Elderly OKU woman found safe after six days missing in Pakan jungle

KUCHING, Jan 18: A 67-year-old woman with disabilities (OKU) who had been missing for six days in the jungle near Rh Ajai Sandin, Pakan was found safe early this morning, Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported.
According to police and rescue reports, the woman was last seen on Jan 13 at around 11am after leaving her home to collect vegetables behind the house. She was wearing a red blouse at the time. Initial searches by family members and local villagers were unsuccessful.
The search and rescue operation, led by the police and supported by the Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station, resumed today as the fifth day of the search operation. Teams covered a search radius of two-kilometre around the woman’s residence.
At approximately 10.13am, rescue personnel located the woman about 1.3 kilometres from her home. She was found weak and with minor injuries to her legs. Emergency responders provided immediate assistance and helped her return safely to her home.
The operation concluded at 11.50am. Agencies involved, include the police, RELA, and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM). – DayakDaily
