'Love Me Love Me' Sequel Theories: What To Expect Next From Prime Video’s Movie?
So, I just found out that Stefania S.’s popular Wattpad novel, “Love Me Love Me,” is a four-part saga, and Prime Video’s film of the same name, which has been recently released on the platform, adapted only the first book in the series, titled “Magnetic Heats.” Personally, I didn’t like the film much, and looking at the IMDb ratings, I think I’m not the only one, but it seems like the producer of the Italian rom-com film has plans to adapt all four books to the screen, which means 3 more are coming out. Scary, right? I would have mentioned the possibility the producers would change their mind if the film didn’t work, but good God, there are so many reads on my previous article that even I am forced to write another to discuss everything we can expect from the sequel of Prime Video’s Love Me, Love Me.
Spoiler Alert
As per the report, the second film is going to be based on the second book, “Polar Opposites,” which, as the title suggests, is going to explore the budding romance between the two polar opposites, James Hunter and June White. Honestly, I haven’t read the books, and after watching the first film, I don’t plan on reading them either. But I think the way the first film ended, it will be easy for us to predict the plot for the next one. Obviously, those of you who have read the books can help me out in the comments below, but because the makers of the film are making so many changes in the source material, even the readers can expect to get a bit surprised. So, the first film ended on a happy note, with James and June kissing for the first time to mark the beginning of their relationship, but we all know that things aren’t going to stay that way for long, as James is a problematic guy, and guys like him reek of trouble. Based on this assumption, there are few things that I think can happen in Love Me, Love Me 2, so without any further ado, let’s jump straight into it.
James’ Mother May Come Back Into His LifeIn the first film, we found out that James’ mother had been sent to rehab, most likely because of her drug addiction. I guess it was James’ stepfather, Austin, who might have gotten James’ mother addicted to hard drugs to extort money from her, and he was doing the same thing with James. However, as hinted by the film, it seemed like James didn’t have a great relationship with his biological father, Jordan, likely because James blames him for his mother’s condition, but maybe the second film will try to mend the relationship between father and son by bringing James’ mother back into their lives, so she can make James understand that it wasn’t his father’s fault that she fell victim to addiction. Or maybe Jordan may have had something to do with his wife’s condition, but he’ll finally realize his mistake and try to make things right by bringing his wife back into his kid’s life. In short, I think the second film will shed more light on James’ dark past and explore his conflicted family dynamics. And in all this mess, June will most likely be James’ silver lining.
Will May Find Love AgainOkay, I’m not saying Will and June will come back again, but I think the second film will further explore Will Cooper’s friendship with James Hunter, and how Will helped him to cope with the dark phase in his life, thereby saving James from himself. I mean, you know how bad this guy’s anger is, right? And falling prey to his rage, he can do anything to anyone, even himself. So I think Will may have stopped James from hurting himself in the past, which is why James owes him his life. Throughout the first film, James has been trying to stop his best friend from getting hurt, but I think, in the sequel, Will will try to communicate better with James, and make him understand what he wants. We know that Will’s a romantic guy, but he’s kind of shy too, so James can help him come out of his shell so he can fall in love with someone again. Maybe Will will go back to his ex, Ari. She broke things off with him because Will got a bit possessive, but if Will decides to work on himself, who knows, Ari may want to give their relationship another shot.
June’s Friends at SchoolIf I am not wrong, the events of the first film occurred in the span of just a few days after June joined her new school in Milan. But instead of focusing on June’s life in St. Mary International School, the film shifted its entire focus onto James and June’s relationship. But now that’s already been done, I think the second film will try to explore what it missed in the first part. In short, we will find more information about other characters in the film, especially June’s classmates, Blaze, Jackson, and the mischievous gossip queen, Amelia. You remember that it was Amelia who edited June and James’ video for her amusement, right? I think she’s going to pull off a similar stunt in the next part to get back at June, because she humiliated Amelia in front of her friends. So yeah, the second film could tackle school politics and the rivalries between students, which evidently will have an effect on June and her relationship with James.
June and James’ ParentsIn the first film, June’s mother, April, and James’ father, Jordan, didn’t exactly approve of their relationship. In fact, they were quite shocked when they saw the video and found June and James in each other’s arms in bed. So even though the two lovebirds have sorted things out between themselves, I think they still need their parents’ approval. This is important, because April works for Jordan, and she won’t let June hang out with James, not until Jordan’s okay with them seeing each other. And as I mentioned earlier, the second film will be more about other characters in the film than James and June, but it is certain that their relationship will get affected by everything happening around them. In the second film, we can also expect April to be on the lookout for love. We know things have been pretty difficult for the mother-daughter duo ever since June lost her brother, and it could likely be the reason why April moved to Italy to start anew. But now that it’s all in the past; she needs to move on too.
Austin May ReturnAt the end of the first film, Austin tried to kidnap James, as he didn’t want him to talk to the police, but things didn’t go according to plan, and he had to make an escape, leaving James behind. So if in the second film, the police don’t arrest Austin, then there’s a possibility that Austin may try to hurt June and James. I think he will go after June because she was the one who exposed him to James and ruined his chances of making money by exploiting the lad. He knows that James has developed feelings for June and will do anything for her, so maybe he’ll kidnap June to extort money from James because he knows he has a rich father. What I am trying to say here is Austin isn’t going to let James and June get away so easily, and he’ll likely return to exact revenge from both of them.
So, these are my theories on things I expect to see in the sequel of Prime Video’s Love Me, Love Me, but I know those of you who have read the books probably know exactly what is going to happen, and I would definitely love to know those spoilers, so help me out in the comment section below and let me know the shots I missed with my theories.
