KUCHING, Mar 9: Restoration works, including site clearing and drainage, are underway at Kampung Bukit Kota in Limbang following a landslide incident last Saturday (Mar 7).
In a TVS news report, Musyati Sdn Bhd construction manager Justin Tang said that three excavators and five soil transport trucks are being utilised for landslide clearing operations at the site.
“Clearing works are being carried out carefully. There are indeed challenges given the location’s proximity to the riverbank and the limited space for trucks to move in and out,” he told the media today.
Tang said that in addition to clearing the landslide debris, the team will also clean the drains along the hillside to prevent water from accumulating, which could increase the risk of further soil movement.
“Clearing works are expected to take about three days, depending on weather conditions,” he said.
The incident did not record any casualties. However, it blocked the main road, damaged the main water pipe and electricity poles in the area, and cut off the road due to the debris. — DayakDaily
