ETS, KTM Komuter Services Disrupted Due To Overhead Line Fault

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- Electric Train Service (ETS) and KTM Komuter services on the Batu Caves–Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves routes were disrupted following an overhead line equipment (OLE) failure at KM434.423 between Batang Benar and Labu stations today.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) said in a statement that several operational adjustments had been implemented following the incident.

It said ETS train EP9532 from Johor Bahru (JB) Sentral to Kuala Lumpur (KL) Sentral would terminate at Seremban, with passengers transferred by bus to KL Sentral and intermediate stations.

Passengers on ETS trains EP9537 and EP9579 from KL Sentral to JB Sentral would be transported by bus from KL Sentral and intermediate stations to Gadut, before continuing their journey by train.

For KTM Komuter services, Train No. 2047 from Batu Caves to Pulau Sebang would be replaced by bus services from Batang Benar to Seremban.

KTMB said Komuter Train No. 2049 would terminate at Batang Benar, Train No. 2051 at Labu, and Train No. 2055 at Bangi, with affected passengers continuing their journeys by bus.

It added that ETS and KTM Komuter services from Pulau Sebang to KL Sentral would terminate at Seremban, while services from KL Sentral towards Pulau Sebang would terminate at Bangi until further notice.

Passengers affected by the disruption who choose not to continue their journey may obtain a full refund at ticket counters.

KTMB said technical teams are carrying out inspection and restoration works at the site to resume normal operations as soon as possible.

“Passengers are advised to plan their journeys and obtain the latest updates via KTMB’s official channels, including its social media platforms and station staff,” it said.

The company also apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation.
