Hawaii Theatre Center Secures Private Contribution For Venue Recovery

KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- The Hawaii Theatre Center has received a US$150,000 grant to support recovery from storm damage and rising insurance costs while encouraging wider community fundraising efforts. (US$1=RM3.96)

The contribution from the Swalm Family Mālama Keiki Initiative is intended to help preserve one of Hawaii’s most historic performing arts venues and raise awareness of its ongoing financial needs, according to a statement.

“This generous contribution comes at a vital time, ensuring that we can continue to share the magic of live theatre with Honolulu. We are extremely grateful to Nicole and Clark Swalm for leading this community effort,” said Hawaii Theatre Center president and chief executive officer, Gregory Dunn.
