Paydibs Sdn Bhd (“Paydibs”), Malaysia’s merchant-first payment gateway, has successfully onboarded as a direct participant with Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) for DuitNow QR (DNQR) acceptance.

This direct integration marks a significant upgrade in Paydibs’ infrastructure. While Paydibs has already been offering seamless DNQR acceptance to merchants nationwide through established third-party arrangements with strategic partners, the new direct participation with PayNet strengthens its position as a robust merchant acquirer.

With this enhancement, Paydibs now connects directly to Malaysia’s national payments network for DuitNow QR, building on its earlier direct integration with FPX (Financial Process Exchange). Merchants benefit from unified access to real-time payment rails, covering both online banking via FPX and QR payments via DNQR, all through a single, streamlined platform.

Malaysia’s Growing QR Payment Ecosystem

The development comes amid the rapid expansion of QR-based payments in Malaysia. Today, more than 3 million merchants nationwide accept QR payments, following the addition of over 680,000 new DuitNow QR touchpoints in 2025 alone.

At the same time, digital payment usage has become deeply embedded in everyday life, with 8.44 billion transactions processed in 2025. Malaysia is now among the world’s leading adopters of QR payments, underscoring the nation’s continued push toward a digital economy.

As digital payment adoption continues to grow, secure and reliable transactions remain critical. Paydibs addresses this through its dynamic QR functionality, enhancing transaction security while delivering a seamless and efficient checkout experience for both merchants and customers.

Faster Settlements And Better Merchant Control

Direct participation with PayNet also enables faster settlement cycles, improved cost efficiencies, and greater control over transaction processing. For merchants, this translates into better cash flow visibility and quicker access to funds.

At the same time, Paydibs streamlines merchant onboarding and support while maintaining greater oversight across the payment flow. Businesses benefit from a more unified payment experience, with simplified operations, improved visibility, and faster access to funds, supporting stronger day-to-day financial management.

Tee Kean Kang, Chief Executive Officer of Paydibs, said the integration reflects the company’s continued commitment to strengthening its role within Malaysia’s payment ecosystem.

“By going directly with PayNet for DuitNow QR, we are enhancing our position as a merchant acquirer, enabling us to deliver faster settlements, greater control, and more efficient payment operations for businesses. At the same time, merchants benefit from simplified payment acceptance through a single platform, with access to DuitNow QR across banks and eWallets,” he added.

Building Toward A Broader Digital Payment Ecosystem

This builds on Paydibs’ infrastructure advancements, including the launch of Paydibs NEO, Malaysia’s first all-in-one smart terminal integrating QR, card, and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options into a single device. Together, these initiatives reflect Paydibs’ strategy of deepening national rail connectivity while delivering practical, merchant-first solutions.

Aligned with Bank Negara Malaysia and PayNet’s objectives to accelerate digital adoption among MSMEs, Paydibs continues to identify meaningful merchant use cases and actively participate in ecosystem initiatives that drive real-world adoption of national payment products.

With strengthened multi-rail capabilities and direct PayNet connectivity, Paydibs is positioned to support broader domestic digital payment expansion while preparing merchants for future enhancements and pilot programmes within the national payment ecosystem.
