Lenovo supersizes Legion gaming tablets with 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, new Legion phone too

Gaming tablets are seeing a revival with smaller form factors, with Lenovo’s Legion series being one of the most popular options. But, now, Lenovo is giving bigger screens another shot, with the new Legion Y900 series that includes 11-inch and 13-inch Legion Tab models.

Launching in China (via Lilliputing), Legion Y900 comes in two sizes – one with an 11.1-inch display, the other with a 13-inch display. Neither is quite as powerful as the latest Legion Tab (Y700), though. The 8.8-inch model is packing a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, where these larger tablets don’t have quite as much horsepower.

The 11-inch Legion Y900 runs atop a MediaTek Dimensity 9500S chipset, while the 13-inch model has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 – not the Elite version. Both do pack high-res displays at 3840 x 2560, both at 144Hz. They’re still packing powerful specs elsewhere, too, with UFS 4.1 storage, 8-16GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and huge batteries – 11,000 mAh for the 11-inch model and 12,700 mAh for the 13-inch. Like the smaller model, there’s some RGB on the back and fast charging over USB-C.

One of the biggest differences here is that Lenovo has detachable keyboards for both of these tablets, something not available for the 8.8-inch model.

As mentioned, this are launching in Chinaright now, but there are seemingly no plans for a wider global launch. It took Lenovo three generations to bring the smaller model to global markets, so it’s hard to say for certain what could happen with these new larger sizes. Prices convert to around $450 for the 11-inch model and $560 for the 13-inch size, both drastically cheaper than the 8.8-inch model which sells for $850 in the US.

Would you want either of these bigger gaming tablets?

Meanwhile, Lenovo has also launcheda new Legion Y70 gaming smartphone in China. As NotebookCheckdetails, it packs a 6.8-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, and some gaming-specific upgrades such as optimized antenna placement and an upgraded gyroscope for more precise motion aiming. You can also connect it remotely to a Legion computer to play full PC games on the phone.
