'Oasis' Ending Explained: Will There Be A Season 2?
What happens if you discover that the luxury resort you’re staying at has a very dark side? Netflix’s 2026 Spanish drama thriller series, Oasis, unfolds at a fancy resort accessible only to its elite guests. Kidnapping, drug trafficking, and scandalous affairs, the series explores every angle to keep things entertaining. Dani, a young man who visits the resort with his mother, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend’s daughter, finds a friend in Celia, the manager’s daughter. Unlike most elite youngsters his age, Dani prefers authentic connections and loyal friendships over loud parties and superficial politeness. He’s repeatedly told that mingling with hotel staff is beneath him, but that doesn’t keep Dani from becoming friends with Celia, Helena, and Jaen. There’s a twist in the story when Helena is found lying semi-conscious in the woods near the beach. She first assumes that she must have passed out after getting drunk the previous night, but when she takes a shower she realizes that her hair had been washed with the shampoo reserved for the guests. Did something happen to her when she was unconscious? If so, what was the motive?
Spoiler Alert
Who kidnapped Celia? In Oasis’ ending, we discover that Celia was kidnapped by Inspector Sandra Ortega. She was the one investigating Celia’s disappearance, so it’s not shocking that the cops failed to come to a conclusion. She tried to pin the blame on Jaen and even her partner, Detective Ginés. Jaen was arrested after he was found with Alicia in his car. Alicia was one of the guests at Oasis, who pestered Jaen to bring her drugs. She was struggling with her addiction, and she stole Jaen’s car keys to get access to his secret stash. She ended up overdosing, and by the time Jaen found her in his car, she was already unconscious. Thankfully, the doctor managed to save Alicia, but Jaen was in big trouble. The fact that he worked at the hotel and didn’t come from an influential family made him an easy target, moreover, he confessed to selling drugs in the hotel as a side hustle and that just made the situation worse for him. He admitted that he had nothing to do with Celia’s kidnapping, but the cops didn’t believe him. They arrived at the theory that maybe Celia had found out about his side hustle and threatened to expose him, and that’s why he had to get rid of her. Jaen begged Helena to believe him when they crossed paths, and he mentioned how he trusted her enough to share the best-kept secret of Oasis with her. That was code for Helena to go to the spot that Jaen called the ‘best secret of Oasis’ and dig up something that could prove his innocence. Helena found a walkie-talkie that was previously used at the hotel, and just when she and Dani thought that it could lead them to a bigger discovery, Detective Ginés begged them to hand over whatever they’d found. According to him, Dani and Helena were messing up their investigation, and he simply wanted to know what they were up to.
While Sandra obviously wanted to frame Jaen for the kidnapping, Detective Ginés wasn’t quite sure. He at first thought Jaen simply made some extra money on the side and the cases weren’t related, but Sandra tried to convince him by stating that they didn’t have time to wait for forensic results, because they were under immense pressure to find the culprit so that the resort could go back to functioning as usual. In that case, Jaen happened to be the natural main suspect, he knew every spot around the resort that didn’t have camera coverage, and that was how he operated his drug business, moreover he didn’t have an alibi for the night Celia went missing, and that made him look quite like the suspect. Since Detective Ginés was conducting his own investigation on the side without consulting Sandra, she figured he might become difficult to deal with later. So, she left Celia’s hairband in his trunk to make it look like he had something to do with the kidnapping. The broken piece of a vase, the flashlight, the walkie talkie, and Jaen’s confession all confirmed the young man’s involvement, but Helena knew that Jaen was just a small fish in the pond. Jaen had admitted that he’d found Helena in the woods the night she had no recollection of. He stated that he protected her from the others who were in the woods as well, who wouldn’t have shown any mercy to Helena. He drugged her so that she would forget what she’d seen that night. As it turned out Helena had unintentionally witnessed Jaen trafficking drugs into the resort and he freaked out when he saw her in the woods. He thought she wouldn’t remember anything from the night and things would continue smoothly, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Jaen repeatedly stated that he had nothing to do with Celia’s kidnapping, and that he honestly didn’t know what had happened to her.
What was the motive behind the kidnapping?Celia, Helena, and Dani had unknowingly discovered the drug trafficking ring operating out of the hotel. Although a luxurious resort, Oasis Infinity was struggling financially, the whole renovation was nothing but a disaster, and the money that the manager, Luis, had spent was way more than the resort was making. To make ends meet, he started to traffic drugs, and he was the one who got Jaen involved. He used the vases in the storeroom to hide the drugs, and he believed this was the only way he could complete the renovation. That night, Jaen was in the woods to bring the delivery from the beach, and that was when he spotted Helena. She’d seen the pack of drugs he was smuggling into the hotel, and Jaen got nervous. Helena didn’t approve of Jaen’s side hustle, and moreover, she wasn’t supposed to know that even Luis was involved and it was quite an elaborate operation now. He was also afraid that if the dealer who was still lurking in the woods found out about Helena, they would just kill her. So, the only option that came to his mind was to drug her and bring her to the resort. She was taken to the abandoned under-renovation area and into a room that was still operational, and Luis instructed Jaen to put her in the shower to wash away all the evidence. They might have gotten away with it if Jaen hadn’t used the hotel shampoo! So, why was Celia kidnapped? While going through the surveillance footage of the resort to understand what happened with Helena, Dani had noticed Helena entering a room in the under-renovation area. When Helena, Dani, and Celia checked the room, they noticed boot marks, and Celia found a gold chain lying on the floor. She immediately recognized it and she left the room in a hurry. She didn’t explain anything to Helena or Dani, because she knew she had to first confront her father. The gold chain belonged to him and she wondered what he was doing in the room the previous night when Helena was unconscious. Luis at first denied his involvement, but when he realized that Celia wouldn’t believe his lies, he confessed the truth. He showed her how he’d been operating the drug business lately, and explained why Helena was a threat.
Celia refused to listen to her father, she was disappointed in him, and she wasn’t ready to forgive him. Luis begged her to understand, and promised that they would leave the hotel the very next day to get away from this madness. Suddenly, Sandra showed up in the boiler room, surprised to see that Luis had brought his daughter to the spot where they hid the drugs. She was disappointed in him and threatened him to stay away as she followed Celia, who’d run from the spot and planned to inform her friends about everything she’d just found. She tried contacting Dani, but before he received the call, Sandra found Celia and she dragged her to the secret underground room in the boiler area and kept her tied up. She was eventually removed from the spot after Sandra discovered that Dani and Helena were snooping around the resort in search of evidence. She needed to close the case, and when Jaen got caught, she figured this was the best solution. He had already confessed to selling drugs to the guests at the resort, so she could pin the kidnapping on him as well. She then framed her partner, Detective Ginés, and while she had theories and a bit of evidence, she didn’t really have a strong case since Celia hadn’t yet been found. We don’t really get any elaborate explanation on how Sandra Ortega, a police officer, got involved in drug peddling. She is evidently a dirty cop who perhaps receives a generous cut to ensure the smooth operation of the drug business in the beach town.
She had come to an agreement with Luis and promised to hand over Celia to him near a cliff. But when Luis arrived there, Sandra knocked him out and made him sit in the front of her car. I suppose her plan was to make it look like Luis had kidnapped his own daughter because she’d found out about his secret side business that he wasn’t proud of. Before Sandra could push the car off the cliff and make it look like a suicide, Helena and Dani intervened. They’d followed Luis to the spot, and they managed to free Celia from the trunk of the car. Together, they lured Sandra to an abandoned building and managed to overpower her, and grab hold of her gun. They’d informed the police, and they arrived just at the right time. Detective Ginés arrested Sandra and we also discovered that Luis survived, though we don’t really find out whether he ended up in prison. I suppose he did, considering he was deeply involved in the drug business. Also, he knew who had kidnapped his daughter, but he chose to keep the information from the cops. According to Celia, her father regretted getting involved in this dirty business because he ultimately lost way more than he’d gained. Jaen was released because he wasn’t directly responsible for the kidnapping, and he was just a small-time drug peddler doing the job for some extra cash.
Will Dani and Helena end up together?Although Dani had his eyes on Celia when they first met, he eventually fell for Helena when they started to investigate Celia’s disappearance. It looks like Dani is attached to both Celia and Helena, and he had no intention of making the tough choice. He is happy to have them around and call them his friends. Moreover, Oasis Infinity allows one to explore infinite possibilities, and I think Dani’s focus at present is to have the time of his life. It looks like Helena has decided not to interfere if Dani and Celia decide to be together, since Celia fell for him first and she wants to respect it. But the heart wants what it wants, right? Helena is evidently not over Dani, and Dani too has feelings for her. Celia has already figured out that Dani and Helena have grown close, and it looks like she doesn’t have any problem with the dynamic that they share at the moment.
Will Oliver betray Laura eventually?Laura’s grandmother has tried to explain to her (with evidence) that Oliver’s intentions aren’t pure, but she trusts the golfer way more than she should. Apparently, Oliver has been fired several times from various resorts because he has tried to get too close to rich young girls. Laura momentarily believed her grandma, but Oliver is a smooth-talker, and he convinces her that he truly loves her and he isn’t just with her because she is a millionaire. To win her trust, he helps her get the passcode to the safe where her grandma kept important documents. Laura had noticed that her grandma had been guarding the documents with her life, and she wondered what was in them. Oliver gets access to the passcode of the safe and promises to take pictures of the documents for Laura while she keeps her grandma occupied. Later, when Oliver shows Laura all the pictures, she realizes there isn’t anything in it that she doesn’t already know, and she wonders why her grandma has been acting strange. Laura is too naive not to consider the possibility that Oliver might not have shared the entire truth with her.
As it turns out, Laura’s grandma’s health related test results were concerning, and that’s why she has planned to sell the company to the Fortes. When Oliver learns about this secret, he uses the document to blackmail Laura’s grandma. He tells her not to sell the company and instead to trust her granddaughter with it, and he also warns her not to interfere in his relationship with Laura. Laura’s grandma does what he asks, but why though? Someday, Laura will find out that she is sick, so wouldn’t it be better for her to know what she will have to eventually deal with? Yes, it will be difficult for her to accept the reality, but she has no choice but to make peace with it. The only concern I can think of is the valuation of the company tanking in case her health report makes it to the news. But in that case, she can make Laura the head of the company and continue guiding her, and ultimately tell her granddaughter that Oliver is a blackmailer. I expected more from grandma, I guess! At the very end, we discover that Oliver has his eyes on a colleague, and it’s very likely that he will cheat on Laura eventually, or perhaps he is already dating his colleague! Maybe he is so determined to be with Laura just so that he can provide for his actual girlfriend and eventually build a life together with her. I’m sure grandma is going to be vigilant, and if Oliver attempts to drain their money and run away, I hope she will take the necessary actions.
Did Jon uncover his father’s secret?Jon thought his father had been in a relationship with Maca, Leo’s friend, and he was obviously extremely disappointed in him. This wasn’t the first time his father had betrayed his trust, and he didn’t know how to cope with it. He also felt betrayed by Leo, since she chose to keep their affair a secret to protect her best friend. Well, unfortunately, Jon didn’t know the whole truth. Leo had been sleeping with his father, Felipe, and eventually she also got sexually intimate with him. Leo had considered telling Jon the truth, but seeing how innocent he was, and how deeply he loved her, she chose to keep her affair with Felipe a secret. But in the last episode, we discover that among the many photographs Jon had taken during his stay at the resort, there was one where Felipe and Leo were talking and his father had his hand on Leo’s shoulder. I don’t know if Jon is going to connect the dots and figure out the truth, or if he is going to ignore the evidence and believe the version of events that he has convinced himself is real. There’s also a possibility that Jon knew about his father’s affair with Leo, and he got close to her to mess with him. Honestly, Jon doesn’t seem so complex, but you never know! Maybe he is just a harmless kid who fell for Leo and is ready to overlook all her red flags, or perhaps he notices things way too late and he knows more than he shows. Oasis leaves it up to the audience to decide what possibly could’ve been the case.
What to expect from season 2?Since Oasis is a closed-ended mystery show, it will most likely not be renewed for another season, unless there is a massive demand for it, and the show creator comes up with another resort-related mystery series, perhaps like ‘The White Lotus’? In that case, we’ll probably be introduced to a whole new cast, or maybe Dani, Helena, and Celia will remain constants while the side characters and the mystery crisis change. While Dani is in love with both Helena and Celia, I think that, at the end of the day, all three of them will choose to remain friends forever, although jealousy might creep in, and we’ll get to see more of their evolved dynamics in the upcoming season. Maybe if Luis doesn’t end up in prison or get away with a reduced sentence, he and Celia will move to a different part of the country, and once again he will take up a job at one of the Oasis Infinity chain resorts where something odd might unfold, and that’s when Celia will ask Dani and Helena for help (although given his track record, I’m not sure if the resort chain will want to have him on board again). If the characters remain the same in season 2, then of course we’ll find out how Laura’s grandma dealt with Oliver, or whether or not he managed to convince Laura that he is the one for her! Also, if Jon figures out that Leo had been dating his father, then maybe he will try to confront her, or perhaps even plot against her for vengeance. I’m sure there’s a drug mafia operating in the beach town, who is well connected with an international drug trafficking ring and maybe in season 2, when Dani visits Oasis Infinity, he and his friends will get to the depths of the illegal business.
