Latest Galaxy Watch 9 leaks show updated design and new features [Gallery]

More leaks of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 9 have landed, revealing new features for the upcoming smartwatch series, as well as the first leaked images of the updated design.

Following up on some other software-based leaks from over the weekend, @GalaxyTechie posteda batch of images showing off the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2’s new software features, focused on health tracking. While the watermarks here are obscuring the content, we can see “trail run” tracking, a new panel for Samsung Health’s updated markers, and a new watch face for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

There are also a bunch of updates to Samsung’s overall UI seen throughout these images.

Topping that off, Android Headlines has postednew Galaxy Watch 9 renders sourced from @OnLeaks.

These are said to be official press images of the Galaxy Watch 9 and show the smartwatch in light and dark silver colors as well as a near-black case color, with white, green, and dark blue bands. The underside of the case changes color too, with a plastic finish that would be touching your wrist, just like Galaxy Watch 8.

The design updates are very minimal this year, with the biggest changes being the new case color for this base model, a new default band design, and a slightly subtler brushed metal look. The “circle on a square” look remains as Samsung’s distinct design language.

The post goes on to mention 40mm and 44mm case sizes for the base Galaxy Watch 9, while speculating about price hikes and the likelihood of Snapdragon Wear Elite under the hood. Those details are likely to be true, but the images themselves tell us nothing as of yet.

Meanwhile, Galaxy Watch 8 is currently available starting at $219 in Samsung’s latest sales.
