JOHOR BAHRU - Pakatan Harapan (PH) will use the results of the Johor polls to refine its strategy for the Negeri Sembilan state polls scheduled in about three weeks.
PH State Election Machinery Director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the coalition will comprehensively analyse voting patterns and factors influencing the Johor outcome before structuring a more effective approach. He noted that PH will return to the "war room" to identify weaknesses, address emerging issues, and realign its machinery.
"Our expectation is to maintain the administration under Pakatan Harapan in Negeri Sembilan. We have a good administrative record and are confident that Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun can continue leading the state. We will re-evaluate these Johor results to strengthen our work in Negeri Sembilan. I will discuss candidates, especially from PKR, and the PH candidate list is expected to be announced on July 14," he told a press conference at the PH Information Centre in Skudai.
Amirudin added that the coalition will scrutinise every voting stream and locality to understand shifts in support and adapt its strategy accordingly.
The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election is set for August 1, with nomination day falling on July 18, involving all 36 state assembly seats.
During the August 2023 state polls, BN-Umno won 14 seats, while Perikatan Nasional secured five. PH controlled 17 seats through victories by DAP with 11 seats, PKR with five, and Amanah with one.
