Apple Store launches 2026 Back to School offer: get up to $150 gift card with Mac or iPad purchase

Apple today launched its Back to School deal for 2026. Students can get a gift card worth up to $150 with the purchase of a MacBook Pro. $100 gift cards are available with the purchase of MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and iPad Air.

As is typical, you can usually save more money than the $150 gift card included in Apple’s promo by buying a new Mac from Amazon. However, it can still represent a reasonable deal for students who want to buy from the Apple Store directly.

The 2026 Back to School deal runs from today through August 27, 2026, in the United States. Similar deals in other international markets will also be launching soon.

The gift card deal combines with the typical education discount on Apple’s laptops. That means students can buy a MacBook Air for $1199 ($100 lower than the standard retail price), and get a $100 gift card to spend on something else at Apple in the future.

To get the $150 gift card, you need to spend a minimum of $1899 on a 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro through the education store. The $100 gift card offer is technically the best value-for-money, as you can get it with a purchase of a $699 iPad Air.

These are the only products participating in the Back to School offer this year. That means purchases of Mac desktops, or the brand new MacBook Neo laptop, do not come with any gift card bonus, nor do iPhones, Watches or other accessories.

It’s also worth noting that all of these products went up in price by more than $150 just a couple of weeks ago, as Apple raised prices across the board amidst the memory components price crunch.
