PN-BN may be known as Perikatan Barisan Nasional, says Hamzah

TAMPIN - Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) may contest the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election under the proposed name Perikatan Barisan Nasional (PBN).
According to Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, the proposed name is intended to make the alliance easier for voters to recognise and understand.
Hamzah said using PBN would also help eliminate confusion surrounding the cooperation between the two coalitions, as it is a simpler and clearer name than referring to the alliance as PN-BN.
"We want to give it a name so people are no longer confused. In Negeri Sembilan, we will begin with PBN. Many people find it difficult to say PN-BN, so just call it PBN.
“However, what is most important is not the name, but our shared spirit in determining the future of Negeri Sembilan,” he told reporters after the BN-PN Parliamentary Candidate Introduction Grand Ceramah Programme at the Felda Bukit Rokan Polling District Centre (PDM) on Tuesday night.
Also present were Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and BN Tampin chairman Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa.
Hamzah said while the coalition could adopt any name, unity among the component parties remained the key priority in their bid to form a new Negeri Sembilan government.
He also said PBN would carry the "blue wave" against the "red wave", a reference to Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"We can call it whatever we want. The wave that we see today is much clearer, namely the blue wave against the red wave. If blue becomes the choice of the majority of the people, Insyallah we will take over the Negeri Sembilan government.
"We in PN agreed from the very beginning that BN would lead it together with us in Negeri Sembilan. There is absolutely no problem as long as we can work together in this way,” he added.
He said coalition leaders held discussions at an early stage to address any previous disagreements, disappointments or unresolved issues before campaigning intensified.
According to him, such matters are natural because people have feelings, but they can be resolved through open discussions. Holding the meeting early would allow coalition members to move forward united and focus on working hard throughout the campaign.
Hamzah added that the coalition's election machinery must also ensure voters clearly understood PBN's plans for the future of Negeri Sembilan.
"If we can bring down the old PH government and replace it with a new PBN government, it will give greater peace of mind to people throughout the country.
"This coalition can show that any dissatisfaction can be resolved through the democratic system. The people will decide,” he mentioned.
He said, however, that the proposed use of the name PBN was still in its early stages and would first be discussed with leaders of the participating parties.
