Gemini app simplifies thinking level picker, rolling out settings for ‘Notifications’

The Gemini app is rolling out a handful of tweaks today that streamline the interface for new features.
Previously, the Gemini app’s model picker used a dropdown menu to set “Thinking level” in a two-stage process:
Google is now simplifying this by no longer explicitly listing the “Standard” default and just showing “Extended thinking” for a one-step process. We’re seeing this change widely rolled out on Android and the web.
Old vs. new
Another tweak today sees Gemini Spark on Android switch to top tabs for All, Scheduled, Needs input, In progress, and Completed. The old menu button in the top-right corner is now a magnifying glass icon to “Search tasks.” This follows Google AI Prousers getting access to Spark last week.

This is useful if you check Daily brief by going directly to the app every morning instead of using the alert. Notifications aren’t widely rolled out yet. Once available, you’ll find them in the account menu.
