'The Husband' Episode 10 Recap And Ending Explained: What To Expect From The Finale?
The latest episode of K-drama The Husband delivers some big twists that give us the answers we’ve been waiting for, but it also makes it seem like the whole reason any of this is happening is because of Noh’s wife, rather than Noh being a psychopath himself. However, we can’t forget that he completely loses his mind after his first kill and actually starts enjoying the ordeal. It does seem like everything started out because of the women, but that’s not the case, so don’t be confused. I’m not sure I like Taeju anymore, despite this episode proving that he’s the ideal husband and whatnot. In fact, maybe that’s what’s made me upset in the first place. Of course, Seyun doesn’t take long to forgive her husband, I guess because her own dad was responsible for keeping Taeju away when their daughter died. It’s all too complicated, but I guess we need to see the bigger picture. With that said, let’s get into the tenth episode.
Spoiler Alert
What Happened To Noh?The Husband episode 10 begins with a flashback to when Noh and Kim met for the first time. Noh was a quiet loner who didn’t interact with anybody. Kim ran a hair salon near where they lived as neighbors, and one fine day, she essentially forces Noh to have a conversation with her to tell him to come to her salon. Noh refuses to even make eye contact, but Kim is insistent. On a later occasion, Noh overhears someone knocking on Kim’s door and going crazy; despite being an introvert, he follows the man into Kim’s apartment, because there can’t be any good coming out of this conversation. He finds the man smacking Kim and threatening her life. Noh tries to tell the man to stop, but he’s too timid for the man to pay any heed. When he speaks slightly louder, the man threatens Noh too, so Noh ends up bludgeoning him to death in anger and fear. Seeing how he saved her life, Kim immediately gives him a kiss and thanks him for helping her. It seems she’s trying to imprint on him in a way. Oh look, now you’ll do my bidding. She gives him a haircut too.
Does Noh Hit Seyun? At present, Seyun is looking straight at Noh, who’s holding a bloody hammer. She freaks out and starts to run, but of course her heels aren’t doing her any favors. He catches her, but she escapes and finally ends up at the door out of the basement and into the hospital, screaming for help. It’s her husband who saves her and goes back out into the basement in her stead. Noh tells Taeju that his plan was never to kill Seyun; it was always to get Taeju in the end. At the same time, to save himself, I suppose, Taeju tells Noh that Ha was going to kill Kim, but Taeju was the one who saved her. Taeju also tells Noh about why Kim got rejected for the stem cell treatment back in the day. The conversation is cut off when the cops show up, and Noh escapes. Knowing about Myunghui and Choi’s involvement in the stem cell laundering, Noh goes after them next. When Myunghui is trying to run away, he catches her in her car before she can leave. Wonder how that turned out; maybe he’s going to torture her.
What Happens When Seyun Learns Of Her Father’s Involvement? The main part of episode 10 focuses on Seyun learning the truth about everything that’s happened in the show so far. So first, Taeju tells her about the stem cells being harvested from fetuses. She goes to her dad’s office to see how much truth there is to it all, and finds out that it’s pretty accurate. She thinks her mum might know about it too, but after asking her about it, it doesn’t seem like she does. In the meantime, at work, Myunghui is suspected of having killed Ha, especially since she’s fled the scene. When Taeju hears about this, he suddenly goes back to that day when he went to speak to her about the stem cells. It suddenly clicks in his head that this woman was a part of the operation the whole time, and knew everything about it. She was essentially telling him to shut up and listen to what his father-in-law was asking of him. She was the reason he never told his wife the truth, because she used the stress card. Taeju goes to talk to Kim about what he’s learnt. She’s surprised to hear that Cha was with Ha when he died. Kim tells Taeju that Myunghui told her that they could make new nerves and bring hers back to life. Taeju wonders how she could tell her something like that when she’s a psychiatrist. Taeju asks Kim who Myunghui introduced her to. Essentially, Kim knows now that everyone just uses her and tosses her aside, but I guess this is sign enough for Taeju to see that he’s looking for Choi.
On the other hand, we finally understand what happened on the night of Taeju and Seyun’s daughter’s death. At the time, Taeju wasn’t hiding an affair from his wife; he was hiding the truth about the hospital she essentially grew up serving. He thought telling her the truth would’ve broken her, so he never did. But on the day of their daughter’s death, Seyun’s father, i.e. Hayun’s own grandfather, didn’t let Taeju go save his daughter, because he was working on a VIP patient. In fact, Taeju didn’t even learn the truth until his daughter was already dead. However, he let Seyun blame him instead of making things worse for her, but now he realises he should’ve told her the truth back in the day. He tells her that he was the one Noh and Kim were after the whole time, not Seyun.
What Can We Expect From The Finale? In the ending of episode 10, Noh goes after Choi and chokes him, asking for answers. I think this implies Myunghui might be dead, but also Noh tells Choi that he asked him to do all his dirty work, but now he’s ignoring him. This implies that Choi is the one who was messing with Kim and Noh the whole time. As I said earlier, he’s the one whom Myunghui introduced to Kim.
With only two episodes of the show remaining, we can imagine Noh will spare Choi just because he’s forced to believe that he’s the only one who can save Kim. I don’t fully understand why Noh was going after Taeju in the first place; I guess because he’s the one who treated the VIP patients, and that’s why Kim was “left to die.” Oh, never mind; it was Choi who wanted Taeju dead so that he could take on his role in the future. The preview shows that someone asked Noh to kill Taeju if he wanted to get his wife operated on. This has to be Choi. Taeju tells Noh that he’ll do the surgery. In the meantime, it’ll be interesting to see what Seyun does with her father, or rather how she’ll deal with that relationship after learning the whole truth. She seems to be talking about how things can’t be undone, but they’ll have to make do with what they can. Finally, it looks like Kim gets kidnapped from the hospital, and Noh tells Taeju that he needs to do what he promised for Noh to be spared. The preview clearly shows Choi’s hatred for Taeju, so the final battle between those two in the end.
