The Crow Club Episode 1 Recap

When you get into trouble, you always look for the fastest solution because that’s completely normal and nobody wants their life to remain messed up for long. In “The Crow Club,” club owner Linda offers a variety of solutions to people through her employees – Tangmo, Talay, Phatee and Vann. They are all social outcasts who have a hard time because people are not ready to accept them. Linda is the owner of The Crow Club, which runs a bar as a front while its real business is fixing people’s problems. Although most of the time, the jobs are easy, people often consult Linda to help murder their enemies as well. While Linda remains calm, Tangmo, Talay, Phatee and Vann keep stressing about getting new jobs. To reduce stress, they decide to dress up as different avatars on Halloween night, and Linda decides to hold a party on that occasion.

Why Does Tangmo Get Angry?

Tangmo’s job is already a hectic one and he sometimes struggles to make money. Since it’s Halloween, Tangmo just wants to spend the evening peacefully keeping an eye on all the guests in the club. While Tangmo stays at the bar counter, his sister, Mimi, approaches a group of strangers about their order. Unfortunately, one of them, who is wearing a pig mask, starts to click pictures by placing his phone under Mimi’s skirt, without letting her know. When Mimi confronts him, the creep takes it a level further by causing a scene and slut-shaming her for her outfit. For Tangmo, it becomes unbearable and he lashes out at the creep without holding back anymore. Since the man further accuses Mimi of not doing anything to step away, a scuffle breaks out between Tangmo and the group,  causing a scene throughout the entire bar. 

Is Sun In Serious Trouble?

Being a writer, it’s often hard to brainstorm ideas especially when you are in the field of creative writing because of stress, brain fog and strict deadlines. The writer, Sun is simultaneously suffering from all these and his life is a living hell. Sun must submit the script of his novel within days or his publisher will terminate his contract. He is already ridiculed by everyone for falling from the top spot among romance novelists and Sun cannot take further criticism from anyone. That’s why Sun is at The Crow Club, trying to drown his sorrows in alcohol while giving himself a last shot at saving his writing career. Sun wants to look at the people around him and find  inspiration for the male lead of his novel, as he has been  out of ideas for a long time now. When Su notices Talay at the counter and witnesses him fight with the creeps, he finds the latter worthy of being the male lead of his novel, mainly due to his sharp physical attributes.

Why Doesn’t Talay Want To Get Hired By Sun?

Talay is one of the best in the game, and his boss, Linda, also recognizes his efforts behind running The Crow Club. Since Talay is strictly professional, he prefers not to get emotionally attached with any of his clients. Although he has a heart-to-heart with Sun, while trying to understand what the latter is going through, he understands that the writer likes him a lot. Sun also offers Talay to become the model male lead for his romance story, which will help him to finish it faster. When Talay turns him down, Sun assures him that he looks forward to winning him over with love. Here’s where things get difficult for Talay because he does not believe in the concept of love and given Sun’s desperation, Talay kisses the writer to prove him wrong. Although Sun feels even more attracted to Talay after the kiss, the latter feels absolutely nothing and strictly denies working for him.

Why Is Vann So Startled To Work For Rakkhun?

Vann has known Rakkhun since the day when the two got stuck inside a malfunctioning lift and he had to get close to the latter when he passed out. Although it’s a random encounter and Vann did not lose his face mask, he is still awkward about the entire scenario. When Rakkhun sits down with Linda and demands Vann’s services, things take an unexpected turn because of the problem he is facing. It turns out that Rakkhun can never get intimate with any of his lovers because a spirit remains attached to him. Whenever Rakkhun prepares to get close with anyone, the latter gets scared upon noticing the scary spirit. This startles Vann because he has never worked on a supernatural case. For Vann, this scenario is also frightening as he does not know what he is going to deal with if he chooses to work for Rakkhun.

What Does Ranne Want With Phatee?

Ranne and his friends are struggling to make their debut on stage as a band but the committee is not ready to grant them affiliation unless they have one more member. Since Ranne knows that Phatee is an extremely skilled guitarist and has a soulful voice, he wants his help. If Phatee performs with Ranne and his friends, posing as a band, and they clear the audition, the committee will approve them. Since Ranne is a struggling college student, he is ready to cut corners to do whatever it takes to make money. That’s why he almost begs Phatee to join them, even if it means just for the audition round. Ranne knows that this is his band’s last chance to get the certification and he is ready to pay anything to get Phatee on board. 

What Ruins Tangmo’s Day?

Although Tangmo dearly loves Mimi, he gets angry at her when she slacks off, forcing him to handle the beer supply delivery. When Tangmo goes out and notices that the delivery boy is none other than his ex, Yuyeh, he grows furious. A part of Tangmo still remembers how his relationship with Yuyeh ended on a bad note. No matter how tough Tangmo looks on the outside, he always hides his emotions to guard his vulnerable side. Tangmo’s animosity towards Yuyeh proves that he probably still holds a grudge against his former partner. Things  heat up further when Yuyeh approaches Linda to get a job done and demands Tangmo as his agent. 

What Will Happen To Linda If Her Employees Accept Their New Jobs?

Linda might be a strict boss but she never likes to overstep and make her employees’ decisions for them. She has always made it very clear that anyone can turn a job down but once they accept it, they must fully commit to it. Talay does not want to accept Sun’s offer because of the latter’s desperation to make him fall in love. Tangmo is unsure about his feelings for Yuyeh, so he is having a hard time deciding if he wants to work with him. Vann regrets being at the club because he is scared of the spirit that follows Rakkhun (even though he has not seen it yet but it is normal to be scared of something you cannot see). Phatee is not ready to work with Ranne because he thinks that he will end up falling in love with him. However, all four of Linda’s employees need money, so they have no choice but to accept job offers. If they commit to these jobs (and they will), it will be a hard time for Linda because, most likely, they will end up getting attached to their respective customers.
