Tubi’s Bite Size Terror Recap And Ending Explained
1 day ago
“Bite Size Terror” is Tubi’s gift to all its viewers as the Halloween month starts. The first season of the anthology series features ten short stories that explore the different genres of terror like body horror, zombies, psychological horror, traditional ghost stories, and interdimensional anomalies. Although they seem like normal horror stories or shorts on the surface, each one carries a different meaning that teaches the audience lessons on life. While there is no connection between the ten shorts, “Bite Size Terror” makes it clear that all of them are somehow linked to the inner fears or demons of the victims.

The Riddle Of The Two NicksLittle Nick has got a babysitter for the night as his parents seem nowhere to be around. While babysitting is a tough job, considering how demanding it can be in terms of maintaining a child’s safety, Nick’s babysitter does not care much. She turns out to be slacking in her job and constantly attending her friend over the phone when her first priority should be keeping Nick safe. When Nick challenges her and promises that he can easily beat the clock by holding his breath underwater for five minutes, his babysitter allows it. This is where she goes absolutely wrong because even if efficient swimmers can do it, a child like Nick requires expert supervision to perform such stunts. When Nick goes underwater and signals her, proving that he is okay, his babysitter casually goes back to talk with her friend as if there’s no imminent danger. After she sees Nick (who is actually a demon) and tries to nurse it back, only to discover the real Nick coming out of the pool, it signifies how tragic the outcome could have been. The real Nick survives but the large demonic version signifies the regrets that the babysitter would have had if he ever drowned in the pool.
Marisol’s Grave MistakeMarisol and Claire are known as best friends until the latter dies in a mysterious way. Amid coping with the terrible tragedy, Marisol notices her mother covering up the mirrors in the house. According to the elderly woman, Claire’s soul may still be roaming around and unless enough days pass after her funeral, it is unsafe to look at the mirrors because she considers them portals to the afterlife. Although Marisol feels weird, she soon forgets reality while being fully immersed in the videos which she and Claire used to make. Marisol’s mother tries her best to keep her grounded in reality but Marisol does not seem to shake off the ruminations about her past with Claire. While Marisol’s mother tries to protect her daughter with enchanted beads, nothing seems to work as Marisol herself opens the cover of a mirror at night while calling Claire. Although there seems to be a response, it turns out that the spirit that has crawled through the mirror is a demon – Claire also confirms that it isn’t her. The demon continues to latch onto Marisol and her mother for the rest of their lives, proving that some actions cannot be undone.
The Living Statue AnalogyThe best part about having real estate agents in your house is probably the way they evaluate your plot and often provide better rates for selling. But, people who dress up as real estate agents, who are, in layman’s terms, scammers, destroy every property they set foot in to. In this case, it’s a female streamer who breaks into random properties, shares the story with her boyfriend, Brad, and livestreams from those stranger’s houses. The worst thing that the woman does is not just breaking into the house and remodeling the rooms to create the perfect thumbnail for her social media video – it’s the way she disrespects a tribal miniature figurine of a shaman and packs it away into the store room. Hours after that, when the house loses the power and she gets trapped inside due to the automated door locks, the doll comes to life and attacks her. In the end, she gets killed by the toy as it goes back to its original place on the shelf. Here, the toy is a symbol of stability that holds a house together for years. Destroying it brings self harm on oneself because in many cultures and religions, these statues are believed to hold trapped souls of ancestors.
Ryan, Caldwell And Their Know-it-all AttitudeAfter astrophysicist Ian dies, he does not just leave his daughter, Caldwell behind. Ian leaves a rich repository of texts, theories, figures and recorded tapes about a strange encounter that he had, years ago. When Caldwell and her boyfriend Ryan enter Ian’s house, and they are surprised to see the broken condition, a loud thud from above rattles them. Despite being scared and clueless about what to do, Caldwell still sends Ryan to inspect what’s happening upstairs. Unfortunately, Caldwell does not know about the imminent danger upstairs. It turns out that long ago, Ian encountered a strange signal that originated from somewhere in outer space. He also managed to capture that strange warbling sound and stored the unknown resonating energy inside the bathtub. By the time Caldwell learns about this, the water has already turned Ryan into a zombie who is following instructions from some higher power. Unfortunately, Ryan turns Caldwell into a zombie as well. Both Ryan and Caldwell fell prey to the unknown as none of them cared about knowing the place before venturing.
Miss Marrow’s Game Exposes Carson And MiaA relationship is always based on trust, which is why couples are always expected to maintain a transparency between them. However, there are times when people lie and cheat; which destroys the fabric of trust. Carson and Mia are one such couple who likes to hide stuff from each other – when they arrive in the wasteland, where a spirit, Miss Marrow lives, they face the hardest game in their lives. Marrow’s card game lets the couple pick a random card and perform the action written on the other face of it. In time, Mia is forced to reveal that she often thinks about her former lovers while she is busy in intimacy with Carson. She also admits that she looked into the rental car and thought that the ring inside was kept by Carson for proposing to her. Carson disappoints her by admitting that he did not intend to ask her hand for marriage. He also lets Mia know that he still finds it difficult to trust her and that’s why he went through Mia’s phone. Marrow exposes the false thread that connects Carson with Mia – the fear of being alone.
Laurie And Her Never-ending ThirstLaurie is a cashier at a motel and most of the time, she is not found at the counter because she is addicted to having cherries. Although customers trust her, Laurie has a habit of stealing from drawers and often takes valuable stuff away from their luggages, only to sell them on the internet at a much higher price. Laurie never changes her ways and while counting the profit she has made, one evening, she gets bit by a bat and transforms into a vampire (which is kind of stereotypical). She starts to suck blood from her own wound on the finger and cuts her own body up to feed herself – Laurie seems to feel a strange pleasure for doing so. However, instead of longing only for blood, Laurie never stops wanting the expensive vase a customer has brought in. The way she sucks the blood off him and steals the vase to sell it in the auction signifies that Laurie is deeply consumed by Greed.
Beth’s Final Sacrifice To Earn Marissa’s RespectBeth is a small-time assistant of news agency owner Marissa, and no matter how talented the former is, she does not get a shot at proving herself. Although Beth tries her best, she is always stuck running errands for Marissa or spends hours inside a small office cutting business cards. Even when Beth has more knowledge about celebrities, Marissa is not ready to let her flourish. Although Marissa seems uninterested in giving Beth a promotion, she seems too invested in nursing her wounds and drawing her closer. When Beth fails to earn the Editor’s position, something that a journalist like her deserves, she cuts off her finger and feeds it to Marissa. This time, quite strangely, Marissa lets Beth co-own the news agency. Beth’s story speaks volumes about talents who fails to utilize their potential just because of bosses who fail to see their worth. There’s probably a thousand of Beths who sacrifice parts of themselves to earn approval from the top brass, where people like Marissa suck their blood off like leeches.
Karen Finally Learns To Say NoWomen are often subjected to torture and Karen’s story is a living proof. Karen does not like her husband (which explains why she divorced him) and she cannot stand her friends. Although Karen is forced to attend the book reading sessions conducted, she tries to enjoy it even though she is dying from inside. After her friends catch Karen’s tactics, they grow angry because all of them feel betrayed. It turns out that Karen has not read a single page of the book and she gets exposed on trying to explain it her way. When Karen’s friends tie her up in a pole and force her to give in (they are similar to a cult of witches who follow a strict order in life, but that’s not how reality works). Ultimately, Karen kills her friends in order to get out of the situation – it signifies how she wins over her inner demons to live freely in life.
Popo And Andrew’s Tragic Fate Is A Result Of LoveLove transcends every possible boundary in this universe and this is always showcased in the strangest of ways. Popo is a dog who gets drawn towards a seemingly harmless boy named Andrew who always sits alone in the park. As time goes by, Popo befriends Andrew, takes some treats from him and follows him to a nameless alley where there’s nothing but buildings. This is the last time Popo sees the light of the day because within a few moments, the boy feeds the dog to a zombie. But, as Popo dies, he cannot help but forget the little discomfort his mother showed – she does not like to feed on dogs. The next afternoon, the new victim who goes missing from the park is a little boy named Andrew. It’s clear that the boy is ready to sacrifice anything to keep his mother happy because he still loves her even if she is no longer a human being. For her, the boy fights with the whole neighborhood and lives in terrible conditions.
Iris Fails To Move On From Her PastThe last episode of this anthology series features a grave decorator and body preserver, Sheryl, who often gets into an argument with her daughter, Iris. For years, Sheryl has been a staunch believer in the fact that the dead often leave signs for their loved ones because they cannot speak to them. This is one of the reasons why Sheryl decorates the dead with flowers, petals and vines, leaving them in the most beautiful state, even after they have no live force left in their bodies. When Sheryl dies, Iris feels disturbed because her mother left before she could resolve their argument. Iris’s mind is stuck in the past and as she keeps thinking about Sheryl while decorating her body with flowers, she comes back to life. Instead of leaving her alone, Sheryl binds Iris with vines that come out of her own body and completely blinds the latter. Even after dying, Sheryl’s love does not leave Iris alone. Meanwhile, it is Iris who also failed to move on from the past, despite knowing that it may devour her in the end.
