In Episode 6 of the second season of “RJ Decker,” Decker and Trudy are out on a date, and they have chosen a mermaid-themed bar. She wants to talk to Decker throughout the whole night as she likes his vibe and ends up flirting with him a couple of times. However, they don’t end up leaving together as Trudy gets summoned by the CSU authorities for something urgent and Decker has to spend the rest of his evening watching the performers in front of them. In the meantime, Decker’s friend, Emi, gets a surprising offer from one of the people she knew during her college days.
Spoilers Ahead
Why Does Kelly Seek Emi’s Help?Kelly and Emi go way back, mostly since the days when they studied law together. Now that Kelly is an established lawyer, she comes across a case where a young suspect, Romero, is held in prison for allegedly killing a police officer named Wherton. While there are discrepancies regarding the fact that the absolute truth may often deviate from the legally established truth in the courtroom, Kelly likes to believe that Romero is totally innocent. In the meantime, Kelly has learnt about how Emi was framed wrongly by society once Victor died. For any attorney, Emi’s story is worth knowing because she pulled herself out of troubles largely on her own. Kelly approaches Emi because she has a lot of connections around and her experience of dealing with legal complications may come in handy. Emi has faced almost every type of situation and hence, she can add more power to the legal counsel of Romero.
Who Killed Ava?Ava made a prominent name for herself in the field of meteorology, and she used to work at a cyclone simulation center where she specialized. One of her colleagues, Patrick, has been stalking her for a long time and he used to keep certain belongings of her as some sort of a souvenir (let’s not go into the details). When Ava discovered Patrick’s behavior and caught him stealing her underwear from the locker, she confronted him and it did not go down well for her. Patrick could not convince her to keep quiet; after Ava accidentally scratched him, he knocked her unconscious by banging her head against the locker room door. When Patrick realized that he was in trouble, he acted impulsively and decided to kill Ava and silence her permanently. It was Patrick who locked Ava inside the Hurricane Simulator and took her life. Once Ava was dead, Patrick made her wear one of her tees that he stole and dumped her body near his friend, Ryan’s wedding venue.
What Makes Blair A Suspect?Blair is a social media influencer, and she has been planning to marry Ryan during stormy weather as she wants to use those photos to bolster her popularity. It can also secure Blair a lump-sum contract with a company out there and Blair cannot miss this opportunity at any cost. When Blair contacted Ava, she promised that a hurricane was headed, unaware of the fact that it was a hoax created by National Hurricane Center employee Zack, to win an online bet. The hurricane was not even supposed to hit the island and once that became clear, Blair failed to contain her rage anymore and took it entirely out on Ava. Blair thought that Ava had scammed her and threatened to kill her over some text messages in a group chat. After Ryan discovers Ava’s dead body in the garden, this situation puts Blair at a serious risk because the world knows how pissed she is regarding her wedding situation. It’s not as if Ryan believes that Blair has killed Ava; it’s just that he does not have enough evidence to prove her good intentions. While it’s true that Decker’s cop friend, Mel, is kind of inflating the evidence to interrogate Blair, the cops cannot arrest the influencer based solely on circumstantial evidence.
What Does Wish Want From Decker?Having a friend like Wish in one’s life is a true blessing. Wish has seen Decker suffering terribly because of his involvement with Emi, no matter how magical it seemed. This relationship impacted Decker’s sanity, fame, and mental health. Since Wish is aware of all this, and he does not want Decker to get into an unforeseen circumstance, he strictly warns him to keep his involvement with Emi in check. Decker does not know it yet, but Wish has been keeping close tabs on him, and which is why, considering his latest developments with Trudy, he decides to motivate him. Wish was there for Decker when he was going through a tough phase with his divorced ex-wife, Catherine. He knows that even if Decker tries hard to make it seem like he is always unaffected by every major mishap in his life, he is actually one of the kindest souls. In order to help Decker avoid getting heartbroken again, Wish strongly encourages him to date Trudy.
Are Decker And Trudy Finally A Thing? After the semi-disastrous first date and Wish’s expert advice, Decker finally realizes that in this case, he needs to prioritize himself first. It’s not possible for Decker to ignore Trudy because he has started to like her. After their first date ended quite unexpectedly, Decker had also expected to go out with Trudy; he was just lacking the motivation he needed, and Wish gave him exactly that. When Decker approaches Trudy and they go on a second date, he kisses her first because he didn’t want to miss the chance in case any unprecedented things happened. This is not how Trudy expected the date to go because she prefers a kiss after the date ends, not at the start, but she was very happy about what Decker did. Now that Decker and Trudy are a thing, you might see them collaborate on future missions. However, even though Decker is in a happier place, his friend, Emi, is not. Mel is questioning Emi and she is trying to talk her out of representing Romero. Although Mel is not revealing much, her words hint at a bigger play happening behind the scenes and if it’s true, then Kelly is lying to Emi about Romero’s background.
