CapCut is coming to ChatGPT, letting you create videos directly inside chat
1 hour ago
CapCuthas officially announced a new plugin for ChatGPT, allowing users to make and edit videos right inside the OpenAIchat app.
The new tool is made to help people turn their ideas into real videos without leaving the chat.
CapCut ChatGPT plugin is coming soonFor users in Malaysia who want to try it out, CapCut has only said that the plugin is coming soon. The company has not given an exact release date or launch schedule yet.
Pricing details are also still a secret for now. It’s not clear whether Malaysian users will need a paid ChatGPT Plus account, a CapCut Pro plan, or both to use the video tools once they go live.
How does the CapCut ChatGPT plugin work? The goal is to keep script writing and early video drafts in one single place.
Users can start by typing an idea or a video script into ChatGPT, turn on the CapCut plugin, and create a draft video right inside the conversation.
After the draft video is ready, users can open it in the CapCut web editor.
In the editor, you can adjust the timing, fix the sound, add clean cuts, and polish the clip before sharing it online.
CapCut says that bringing its video tools into ChatGPT will make creating content much faster and smoother.
Mixed industry reactions to the new pluginMany industry watchers see the move as a great update. They note that not having to jump between two separate apps will save people a lot of time.
On the other hand, some experts have worries about third party plugins. The main concern is that these plugins get people used to staying inside the chatbot.
Over time, the AI platform could simply build its own video tools and drop the outside software company completely. Others in the industry also wonder why the plugin only works with ChatGPT, questioning why it does not also support other AI tools like Claude.
