KUCHING, Nov 8: Under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawakians are now experiencing ‘Zaman Kegemilangan Sarawak’—’Sarawak’s Golden Era’— marked by rapid economic transformation, major infrastructure development, and growing opportunities across various sectors.

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Association Kuching president Dato Shankar Ram Asnani has described the Sarawak government’s achievements as remarkable and unchallenged and claimed that the opposition has “nil to say”.

He also thanked the Premier for his continued care and support for the Sarawak Indian community, and that his actions have shown that their community and heritage are valued, with the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple as a shining example.

“All our Sarawak Indians are so happy. The news has spread all over—even to the US, Germany, France, and England. Everyone says the temple is so beautiful and that the Premier is so good. They ask a lot of questions, and we are very grateful,” he said at a Deepavali celebration here today.

Additionally, Shankar also thanked Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) for their support.

“Sarawak is a place where we practice true inclusivity. And I thank the Premier, for Sarawak and for its people. Thank you again on behalf of our community,” he said. — DayakDaily
