MyJPJ Now Lets You Upgrade Your Provisional Licence To Full Licence Online

If you’ve got a Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) and are ready to make the jump to a full Competent Driving Licence (CDL), the Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ) has just made the process a lot easier.

Starting from 17 February 2025, you can now complete the entire application to upgrade your licence from the comfort of your own phone, thanks to a new feature in the MyJPJ app.

Gone are the days of queueing up at the JPJ office and waiting for ages just to get your new licence. Now, you can apply for your CDL online, without even leaving your house. Over 2.3 million PDL holders in Malaysia now have access to this feature, and it’s all designed to make the process faster and hassle-free.

How Does the MyJPJ CDL Feature Work?

The new feature on the MyJPJ app streamlines the upgrade process, letting you do everything online. If you’re eligible, you can follow these simple steps:1. Update Your MyJPJ App: First, make sure your MyJPJ app is up to date. Download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store if you haven’t already.2. Log in: Open the app and log into your account.3. Select ‘Permohonan CDL’: Navigate to the “Permohonan CDL” section for the application.4. Choose ‘Tempoh Pembaharuan’: This lets you select the renewal period for your CDL.5. Pick Your Payment Option: Choose your preferred payment method and settle the application fee online.6. Wait for Processing and Notification: Once processed, you’ll receive a notification regarding the status of your application.
