Milan Fashion Week AW25: The Best of Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani and more
2 天前
Milan Fashion Week never fails to bring excitement, and the Autumn/Winter 2025 season was no different. Giorgio Armani redefined sophistication with relaxed lines, Ferragamo wove a dance-inspired tale, and Onitsuka Tiger celebrated Tokyo’s dynamic fashion scene. Here’s a look back at five of our favourite shows.
FerragamoCreative director: Maximilian Davis
Venue: Via Perin del Vaga, 2
Highlights of the collection: Inspired by the grace and intensity of dance, Davis infuses his latest collection with a sense of rhythm. Straight-cut slip dresses, softened with drop-waist lace appliqué or unexpected collaged shearling, move effortlessly with the body. Meanwhile, suiting takes on a contemporary edge—structured wool jackets meet fitted leggings, juxtaposed with oversized leather overcoats for a look that radiates quiet confidence.
Key pieces from the line: Statement pieces include floor-length leather trenches, silk mini dresses, and a head-to-toe leather ensemble. Accessories add another layer of allure, with archival footwear blooming in organza, leather, and satin flowers that unfurl across almond-toe pumps, while sandals wrap sensuously around the calves. Evening bags mirror the same floral artistry, while the Hug bag reinvents itself as a doubled, belted crossbody and a feathered pouch.
Giorgio ArmaniCreative director: Giorgio Armani
Venue: Via Bergognone, 59
Highlights of the collection: This season, Armani taps into the fiery hues and mineral luminescence of a sun-scorched earth, echoing the vibrancy of his recent Haute Couture collection. From warm golden beiges to delicate quartz-blue accents, these hues are brought to life through luxurious fabrics like velvet, cashmere, and jacquard silks. Art-deco-inspired headbands and signature loose silhouettes, synonymous with the house’s legacy, lend an air of timeless glamour to the collection.
Key pieces from the line: Armani sets the benchmark with silk trouser suits that drape gracefully, paired with deconstructed coats that exude understated elegance. Evening gowns captivate with their delicate shimmer, intricately embroidered to perfection. Soft bags and flat shoes provide the final touch, offering a blend of comfort and confidence that enhances every step.
Dolce & GabbanaCreative director: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana
Venue: Viale Piave, 24
Highlights of the collection: Forget the traditional runway—this season, the duo took their show to the streets, extending the runway outdoors and embracing the cool-girl aesthetic. Rather than spotlighting a single piece, the emphasis is on styling and the art of dressing, blending natural ease with a touch of glamour. Whether it’s outerwear or eveningwear, each look stays true to Dolce & Gabbana’s signature codes while being reinterpreted in a fresh, contemporary way.
Key pieces from the line: This collection thrives on subtle sensuality, with fur-free outerwear layered over nighties and lace lingerie, topped off with oversized beanies and Chelsea belted boots. Eveningwear heightens this energy, featuring sheer fabrics and colourful stones that inject glamour into every piece.
MoschinoCreative director: Adrian Appiolaza
Venue: Via Ventura, 14
Highlights of the collection: Sartorial tailoring, a cornerstone of Franco Moschino’s approach, becomes a defining motif in this collection. Dresses appear suspended in time, with the inner workings of tailoring exposed and transformed into bold embellishments. A raw selvedge, designed exclusively for Moschino, becomes an ironic emblem—an unfinished logo that dissolves into a relaxed, flowing drape.
Key pieces from the line: Deconstruction evolves into a creative act of reinvention, with dresses composed of fragments from other garments, while sweaters merge multiple parts into a single, unified form. Another collection highlight is the partnership with British textile company Sanderson of London, reworking four signature floral prints—Grandi Flora, Stapleton Park, Eton Poppy, and Everything Roses—into new, modern expressions.
Onitsuka TigerCreative director: Andrea Pompilio
Venue: Via Olona 6
Highlights of the collection: The ‘Urban Duality’ collection captures the pulsating energy of Tokyo, a city where the past and future coexist in harmony. A fusion of diverse influences—from Brit-country elegance to western-inspired touches—runs throughout the runway, showcased in pieces like the tailored mini pea coat, gorp-core-inspired zip-up jackets, and chic micro twin sets in cable-knit wool.
Key pieces from the line: Romantic touches appear in the form of pleated silk skirts and lace-trimmed dresses, contrasted with the bold masculinity of cropped wool jackets and bomber jackets with a shiny, modern finish. The collection also impresses with meticulously designed accessories, such as studded ballerina flats with squared metal toes, along with black sneakers embellished with crystal studs. The iconic Onitsuka bowling bag gets a crystal update, and the mini pochette with oversized straps introduces a bold, fresh look.
