M'sian Senior Employee Upset After Learning He Earns The Same As His Junior, Despite Promotion | WeirdKaya

Fair pay remains a key issue in the workplace. While new job seekers often demand higher salaries, many senior workers feel overlooked when they’re paid the same or less than juniors despite heavier workloads and greater responsibilities.

According to mStar, a senior executive took to social media platform Threads to express frustration after discovering they were paid the same salary as newly hired junior employees.

Promoted with minimal salary increase

Typically, an employee’s salary scale is determined by their qualifications and work experience.

However, this individual, who was recently promoted to senior executive, claimed that their salary increment was minimal and barely above that of a junior executive.

Received no proper response

Not one to remain silent, the employee said they confronted their employer to question the salary adjustment.

“I can’t accept this salary… it feels like the raise is just enough to cover the extra tax,” they added, describing their disappointment.

Despite raising the issue, they claimed that even after two months, they had yet to receive any proper response or explanation from management.
