KPKT: 2,653 MyKiosk 2.0 units delivered, refuting "white elephant" claims

SHAH ALAM – A total of 2,653 MyKiosk 2.0 units have been handed over to small traders across the country, representing 65.44 per cent of the 4,054 kiosks approved by the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT).

The Local Government Department (JKT) under KPKT clarified that the improved kiosks have also been approved for 96 local authorities (PBT) nationwide as part of the 2024 Budget Initiative.

KPKT also stated that while MyKiosk 1.0 reached full occupancy in 2024, several factors could affect this number.

“These include traders choosing not to continue their businesses for various reasons, which can result in vacancies or kiosks being placed in less strategic locations.

“The operational hours of traders can also vary, leading to public perceptions that the kiosks are vacant," KPKT added.
