Watch: Jo Jung Suk, Lee Jung Eun, And More Show Different Ways Of Handling Zombie Choi Yu Ri In “My Daughter Is A Zombie”

“My Daughter Is a Zombie” has unveiled new character posters and a trailer!

Based on a popular webtoon, “My Daughter Is a Zombie” is a heartfelt comedy about a devoted father who embarks on a secret training to protect his daughter—now the last surviving zombie on Earth.

The newly released character posters highlight each character’s traits as they deal with Soo Ah (Choi Yu Ri), who has become a zombie. First, Jo Jung Suk transforms into doting father Jung Hwan, who has now become his zombie daughter’s trainer. The poster shows him trying to calm Soo Ah with a determined yet desperate expression alongside the caption, “Don’t bite your dad. Understand?”

Lee Jung Eun plays Bam Soon, Soo Ah’s grandmother who keeps her zombie granddaughter in check. Her poster reads, “My little puppy has turned into a zombie,” as she holds up her signature back scratcher with charismatic force.

Cho Yeo Jeong exudes fierce tension as government-certified zombie hunter Yeon Hwa, with the chilling line, “Any zombies around here for me to kill?” Meanwhile, Yoon Kyung Ho plays Dong Bae, Jung Hwan’s childhood friend and reluctant helper, who looks terrified as his caption reads, “How do you even train a zombie?”

Choi Yu Ri captures attention as Soo Ah, the last remaining zombie on Earth, with her short but impactful growl, “Urr…” Finally, Ae Yong Ee, the family’s cat who understands humans better than the zombie does, lounges nonchalantly, hinting at its scene-stealing presence.

The accompanying trailer begins with the once-sweet, ordinary girl Soo Ah suddenly transforming into a zombie. Determined to save her, Jung Hwan, a professional animal trainer specializing in wild beasts, decides to put his skills to use and train his zombie daughter, saying, “Soo Ah is different from other infected people. Maybe I can train her.”

Despite always doting on Soo Ah, Bam Soon is now the only person her zombie granddaughter fears, as she doesn’t hesitate to smack Soo Ah with her back scratcher whenever she tries to bite. Brandishing it, she scolds firmly, “That’s no way to behave towards your grandma!” showcasing her charisma. Meanwhile, Jung Hwan’s first love Yeon Hwa, who once had to kill her own fiancé after he turned into a zombie, confesses her trauma, firmly stating, “I despise zombies,” raising the tension.

Dong Bae, who joins Jung Hwan’s zombie training plan, initially taunts Soo Ah by saying, “You dare to bite me?” but quickly backs away in fear, adding humor. Lastly, the family cat Ae Yong Ee steals the spotlight with its sharp-witted personality, proving it understands more than anyone expects.

“My Daughter is a Zombie” hits theaters across South Korea on July 30.
