Two rabies-positive dog cases reported in Petra Jaya and Bintulu

KUCHING, Aug 9: Two rabies-positive cases involving dogs were reported between Aug 4 and 8 in Jalan Semarak, Petra Jaya, and Taman Angsana, Bintulu.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the Jalan Semarak case involved a stray dog that had bitten a person, while the Bintulu case involved a free-roaming pet.

Sharing the update during his ShallWeeTalk live session today, Wee urged pet owners to keep track of the free anti-rabies vaccination programmes scheduled throughout the year.

“Mark the dates in your calendars so you won’t missed the opportunity to ensure that your dogs received the annual mandatory vaccination.

“Everyone, especially pet owners, must play their part, as this is crucial not only to protect your pets but also your loved ones and the wider community,” he stressed. — DayakDaily
