BMW Malaysia opens registration of interest for BMW iX3 2026 'Neue Klasse'

The BMW iX3 is the brand’s all-new EV and it’s their first EV with an 800V architecture capable of 400kW DC fast charging and an impressive WLTP-rated range of up to 805km.

If you want to be among the first to know about its availability in Malaysia, BMW Malaysia has started its registration of interest on its website.

Production for the electric SUV is currently underway and the market launch is scheduled for early 2026 in Europe, followed by China and USA in middle of 2026. So far there are no details yet of its availability for Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region.

The BMW iX3 2026 already has its own product page on BMW Malaysia’s website that shows the sole iX3 50 xDrive variant. You can stay informed about the latest updates by registering your details and select your preferred BMW dealer.

To recap, the BMW iX3 50 xDrive is a dual-motor AWD electric SUV which delivers 345kW (463hp) and 645Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, up to a top speed of 210km/h.

With the efficiency enhancements from its Gen 6 BMW eDrive platform, the BMW iX3 offers 679 to 805km of WLTP-rated range, subject to configuration. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is equipped with a 108.7kWh NMC battery and has a claimed energy consumption (combined WLTP) of 15.1 to 17.9 kWh per 100km.

Thanks to its 800V architecture, it also supports faster DC charging up to 400kW. BMW says a quick 10-minute top-up at a high-powered DC charger is able to add up to 372km of range and 10-80% takes just 21 minutes.

For AC charging, it can be configured with either 11kW or 22kW 3-phase on-board charger.

In addition, the new iX3 is also the first BMW EV to support bi-directional charging. Besides supporting Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which allows you to turn the EV into a giant power bank to run home appliances, it also supports Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). With the bi-directional BMW Wallbox Professional (DC) wallbox installed at home, you can use the iX3 the power up your home or sell excess energy to the grid.

In terms of design, the BMW iX3 features a new cleaner design language which features an illuminated slimmer kidney grille which pays homage to the Neue Klasse of the 60s (BMW 1500). The interior gets a huge revamp as well with BMW Panoramic iDrive system.

The traditional instrument cluster has been replaced with a full width BMW Panoramic Vision that sits below the windshield. It still retains a 3D head-up display which keeps the driver informed while keeping an eye on the road at all times.

Despite its software-defined approach, BMW still retains crucial physical driver controls including signal stalks, gear selector, power windows and side mirrors. However, the air conditioner vents for the front passengers are now controlled via gestures from the touch screen just like a TEsla.

As a 5-seater SUV, the new BMW iX3 still offers generous amount of storage which include a 520L boot that’s expandable up to 1,750L with the rear seats folded. Another first for the BMW EV is the inclusion of a 58L frunk under the bonnet.
