Bowling prodigy Lavinia Kho achieves historic grand slam at SSC-Abas U21 Series

KUCHING (Nov 11): Bowling prodigy Lavinia Kho Jia Jie etched her name in the state’s tenpin bowling history after achieving a stunning Grand Slam of 10 titles at the SSC-Abas U21 November Roll-Off over the weekend.

The victory marked a perfect season for Lavinia who swept all 10 Girls’ Singles titles throughout the 2025 SSC-Abas U21 Series.

The November Roll-Off at Megalanes Sarawak, which served as the final leg of the 2025 youth bowling circuit, attracted 107 participants making a total of 721 entries across 10 months of competition.

Jointly organised by the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) and the Amateur Bowling Association of Sarawak (Abas), the series received support from Nestlé Milo as a key partner.

In the Girls’ Singles finale, Lavinia finished ahead of Adriana Ramiza Ramulo and Claudia Kumang Jakson. Muhammad Isyraq Iqbal Ramadhan captured the Boys’ Singles title followed by Alvin Voon Dong Cheng and Muhammad Ihsan Fikri Suffian.

Top three in the various sub-divisions were Scarlette Adele Ian, Isabel Mok Yi Nuo and Syahieza Damia Syarul (Girls U10); Edward Choo Jia Jing, Alfred Phang Kang Yee and Jared Yap Zao Fung (Boys U10); Nur Fathi Fatihah, Kueh Wan Ting and  Bridgette Juliette Ian (Girls U13); Noel Ayden Constantine, Tommy Kee Yong Hong and Lee Tee Ker (Boys U13); Adriana Ramiza Ramulo, Tantiana Marissa Ramulo and Arwynn Galleina Arthur Ray (Girls U16); Alvin Voon Dong Cheng, Joses Ivan Tony, Abang Afiq Haziq (Boys U16); Claudia Kumang Jakson (Girls Under-19) and Muhammad Isyraq Iqbal, Eldred Kho Yek Zhen and Afiq Khazin Nasiruddin (Boys Under-19).

During the closing ceremony, Abas vice president Robert Lu Nam Min expressed gratitude to SSC and Nestle Milo for their support throughout the year. He also announced that the SSC-ABAS U21 Roll-Off will return in February 2026, with Hero Bowling coming onboard as a new sponsor.

Lu also thanked the coaching team comprising Angelo Koay, Jerusha Chan, Daniel Tan, Uzair Irsyad, Bong Kihow and Nur Aina along with Youth Programme coordinator Fazreen Fadzuan.
