Disney+ Unveils Star-Studded 2026 Global Slate

From Shōgun’s triumphant return to Chris Hemsworth’s moving new documentary and Will Smith’s breathtaking global adventure, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific revealed its much-anticipated 2026 slate at the glittering Disney+ Originals Preview held at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Eric Schrier, President of Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy for Disney Entertainment, emphasised the company’s vision of combining its global franchises with authentic local stories. “Disney has a long and proud history in Asia, and we’re building on that foundation every day through creativity, collaboration and great storytelling,” he said.

The exclusive event brought together top creative talent from across the world, including Shōgun star and executive producer Hiroyuki Sanada alongside co-creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, who reflected on the series’ phenomenal success and teased the upcoming second season.

The showcase unveiled a packed slate of new and returning favourites coming to Disney+ in 2026. Highlights include FX’s The Bear (Season 5), Only Murders in the Building (Season 6), and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Season 2), based on Rick Riordan’s beloved book series.

Fans of dystopian drama can also look forward to The Testaments, the gripping follow-up to The Handmaid’s Tale, while the Descendants franchise continues its magical journey with Wicked Wonderland.

On the factual and documentary front, Chris Hemsworth takes audiences on an emotional journey in A Road Trip to Remember, exploring memory, family and connection through a deeply personal lens. Meanwhile, Will Smith sets off on a once-in-a-lifetime expedition across all seven continents in Pole to Pole, a National Geographic production that promises both awe and adventure.

With a line-up spanning heart, humour and heroism, Disney+ is setting the stage for an unforgettable year of storytelling in 2026.
