Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, mother of Deputy Premier Dr Sim, passes away at age 83

KUCHING, Nov 17: Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, the mother of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, has passed away today at the age of 83.

This was announced by Dr Sim in a post made on his Facebook page.

“We are in deep grief over the passing of our beloved mother, Puan Sri Datin Amar Lim Su Kheng, at the family home this evening, surrounded by her loved ones.

“I lost a mother who had given me unconditional love for my whole life. Frugal on herself but always generous with motherly love to relatives, friends, communities, and NGO (non-governmental organisation) charities close to her heart,” he said.

He said that Lim, who was the wife of the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong, was the first vice president of Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-Isteri (Sabati) and held various posts within the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) and various NGOs, as well as being a doctor.

“(She was) A grandmother who showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, devoting so much time on Enson and Simson’s upbringing and schooling, and instilling in them the family values and love for Sarawak.

“Mummy, you will be deeply missed by every one of us,” he said.

Dr Sim said a wake will be held at their family home at 100 Jalan Wan Abdul Rahman, Kenyalang Park, 93300 Kuching, adding that funeral arrangements will be advised shortly. — DayakDaily
