Flood risk rises as continuous rain warning issued for Sarawak

KUCHING, Dec 8: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued continuous rain warnings for several parts of Sarawak, with heavy rainfall expected to persist until tomorrow (Dec 9).
In a statement issued at 9.40am today, the agency placed Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), and Betong under a Continuous Heavy Rain (Severe) warning.
Meanwhile, a Continuous Rain (Alert) warning has been issued for Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi).
The public—especially those in flood-prone areas—have been advised to remain vigilant. — DayakDaily
