Lorry Trailer Damages Illegally Parked Cars At R&R, Who’s At Fault?

Several cars parked on the yellow line at an R&R were damaged after a lorry trailer tried to drive past the line of vehicles. The incident is believed to have happened at R&R Ayer Keroh.

The viral video showed the tail end of the lorry trailer scraping a car as it turned round the bend. In another clip, a group seemingly tried to move the car away and nearer to the grassy area.

While some felt the lorry driver was justified to do so, others pointed out there was a little more space on the left side of the lorry. They believe the driver could have veered more to the left and avoided scraping past the line of illegally parked vehicles.

Meanwhile, some sympathised with the owners of the damaged cars but acknowledged that the car owners were equally at fault too.

This incident also shone a glaring light on the lack of parking spaces at public areas like the R&Rs, especially on peak holiday seasons.

A user shared that those poor car owners could have no choice but to park illegally because they desperately needed to use the facilities at the R&R but there were no available parking bays.

While two wrongs don’t make it right, it’s another reminder to be mindful of where you park and not to judge others too harshly.
