Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote,
“This wasn’t for show. I couldn’t bear to see an elderly woman, who earns her living with her own hands, forced into despair by a mere fine.
“I’d like to report that I have coordinated with the city council’s enforcement unit and confirmed that no further fines will be issued to the woman; she can continue selling vegetables with peace of mind.”
He further explained that the woman only sells the vegetables four times a month and that he will advocate for a symbolic fee. If approved, he will also cover the related costs for the woman.
The license has been obtained! In another post, Tay updated followers that he has obtained a license for the woman so that she can continue to sell her vegetables while he advocates for a symbolic fee for her.
“I have already covered the license-related fees. Next, I will bring this matter to the meeting and negotiate for a symbolic fee. If it passes, I hope it will alleviate her burden for the foreseeable future,” he added.
