New Jelebu mosque opens ahead of Ramadan
The RM8.85 million Dato’ Undang Luak Jelebu Mosque is now ready for use, accommodating 1,000 worshippers as the holy month approaches.

JELEBU: The newly completed Dato’ Undang Luak Jelebu Mosque is ready for congregants ahead of Ramadan.

The RM8.85 million facility was officially handed over today.

Construction began in March 2022 on a 1.974-hectare site. The mosque can accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the project reflects the Federal government’s commitment to community needs. He stated it strengthens spiritual development and social well-being.

“I call on congregants and the mosque committee to manage and enliven the mosque sincerely,“ he said at the handover ceremony. He urged continuous activity guided by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department.

The mosque includes a multipurpose hall, administrative office, and funeral management room. It also features an audio system, comfortable ablution facilities, and a 25.2-metre minaret.

Designated parking for persons with disabilities is also provided. Aminuddin said the facilities must be fully utilised for the benefit of the community.

He added that the state government has allocated RM16.05 million this year for Islamic institutions. This covers mosque development, religious education, and welfare programmes.

“RM6.5 million is allocated to upgrade the State Mosque and maintain mosques statewide,“ he said. A further RM5.05 million is for allowances for mosque officials and caretakers.
