Learning through fun at FunPark @ Gamuda Luge Gardens

An evening of water, wonder and wide-eyed discovery unfolded at FunPark Open Day 2026 at FunPark @ Gamuda Luge Gardens in Sungai Buloh North.
Carrying the theme "Where Xcitement Meets Fun!", the event held on Saturday offered a first-hand look at how the park is carving out a niche as a family-centric destination that blends play with purpose.
Organised by GL Play by Gamuda Land, the open day gathered parents and children for an experiential preview of what sets FunPark apart from other theme parks.
Instead of focusing solely on rides and attractions, the park positions itself as a vibrant hub where children can learn, celebrate milestones and enjoy high-energy fun all in one place.
The highlight of the evening was the "Hydro Heroes: The Big Bucket Mission", a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-based programme located at Big Bucket Splash.
Designed for children aged four to 12, the activity turns a waterpark visit into a behind-the-scenes adventure.
As part of the experience, children step into the shoes of park engineers and technicians. They are guided into the pump room described as the powerful "heart" of Big Bucket Splash to see how the water systems operate.
In the Water Science Lab segment, kids learn how to test water safety and quality to ensure it is "super safe."
The programme also includes a hands-on workshop where children build their own mini pumps and design miniature waterpark models, encouraging creativity and practical problem-solving.
Priced at RM75 per person, the educational programme is available via pre-booking and is suitable for school groups or specialised learning trips.
For those looking to extend the adventure, there is an add-on option of RM55 for a three Luge plus Skyride combo ticket.
Throughout the guided walk-through, it became clear that Hydro Heroes is more than just an activity.
It reflects FunPark’s aim to reimagine "edu-tainment" moving beyond passive play and turning the park into a laboratory for young minds curious about science and engineering.
Celebrations made easy
The evening also featured a preview of the park’s Birthday Celebration package at Big Bucket Splash.
Complete with a ceremonial cake cutting and interactive party games, the showcase highlighted how FunPark manages end-to-end party logistics in a lively and comfortable setting.
Marketed as a worry-free celebration package, it is priced at RM95 per person with a minimum of 30 guests.
It includes one session admission to Big Bucket Splash, a 10,000-sq-ft waterplay zone, three interactive party games, a special birthday song during cake cutting and use of a reserved private function venue.
Celebration essentials such as a 1kg birthday cake, customised backdrop and party hats are also provided, along with packed meals for guests.
Families can opt for add-ons, including an unlimited Fun Pass or even full park closure for larger private events.
The preview gave a glimpse of how the space can seamlessly transform from an educational ground in the afternoon to a festive venue by night.
