PRISMAnita to provide streamlined support for women facing domestic and family challenges

THE government has unveiled PRISMAnita, a centralised initiative aimed at providing women with faster, coordinated, and victim-centric access to support services, particularly in cases involving domestic and family issues, including domestic violence.
The programme, introduced by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), will operate as a one-stop centre integrating various services under a single umbrella. The aim is to ensure that women receive assistance without bureaucratic obstacles, while also strengthening advocacy and crisis support nationwide.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative goes beyond merely providing services, emphasising the importance of a coordinated approach rather than siloed operations.
“In the current Madani Government, we embrace modern development and influences from the West. While some aspects are positive, there are also negative trends, including the erosion of moral and ethical values and the weakening of family institutions.
“We recognise that modernisation and Western influence have contributed to a decline in ethics, values, and family cohesion,” he said during the launch of International Women’s Day 2026.
Anwar added, “It is therefore essential to have a strategy within the Madani framework to restore values. We choose to be modern, exposed to Eastern and Western values, interacting openly without prejudice, while remaining aware of our own identity and preserving our values.”
The launch was attended by the Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail; Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri; and her deputy, Lim Hui Ying.
PRISMAnita will provide comprehensive support, including counselling, case referral and coordination with relevant stakeholders, access to information platforms, service matching, and emergency support during crises.
The initiative will operate through the State Women’s Development Offices (PPWN) nationwide and serve as an advocacy hub, promoting understanding and enforcement of laws such as the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act 2022, the Domestic Violence Act 1994, and other related regulations.
The programme also offers tax incentives for corporate sponsors contributing to the Lindung Kasih Social Security Scheme for Housewives.
Contributions channelled through the National Welfare Foundation (YKN) qualify for tax exemptions under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
The government encourages private companies, corporations, NGOs, and individuals to participate in sponsoring eligible women under this scheme.
Under the broader Women’s Development Agenda, the Madani government will continue to empower women through the National Women’s Policy and the Women’s Development Action Plan 2025–2030.
These initiatives focus on expanding economic opportunities, strengthening social protection, and creating a more inclusive and responsive employment ecosystem tailored to the needs of women. - March 10, 2026
