Heartbroken M'sian Shares How 'Golden Child' Sibling Drained Sick Elderly Dad's Savings & Abandoned Him

A Malaysian individual has shared their heartbreak after realising that their ‘golden child’ sibling is distancing himself as their elderly father’s health declines.

Posting anonymously to the XUAN Facebook page, the individual described how their brother, once considered the ‘most promising’ member of the family, has effectively abandoned his responsibilities toward their father.

Broken expectations

They wrote, “Who could have imagined that my father’s most beloved and favoured son, after nearly exhausting my father’s life savings, would choose to avoid him and remain indifferent when he actually fell ill? After my mother’s death, this child, on whom the most expectations were placed, failed to fulfil his responsibilities in the period surrounding her passing.”

An alarming detail emerged regarding the brother’s lack of care. He had allegedly taken their father to a medical appointment where the doctor instructed him to stop a specific medication that was no longer suitable.

“I continued to give my father his medication as usual,” the author explained. “It wasn’t until later, when I called the hospital to confirm details myself, that the doctor clearly told me one of the medications was no longer suitable. Continuing it could have worsened his condition or even endangered his life.”
