Malaysian Football League partners with Konami to feature M-League clubs and players in the popular eFootball video game, targeting a younger, global audience

THE Malaysian Football League has forged a strategic partnership with Konami Digital Entertainment to feature the M-League in the global eFootball video game.

MFL chief executive officer Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd said this initiative marks a crucial step in strengthening the domestic league’s brand and attracting younger fans.

He described the collaboration as a “mega bridging effort” with Malaysia’s substantial eFootball community.

“We have also seen encouraging reactions from neighbouring countries, as the M-League is now featured in Konami’s eFootball platform,” he said after the partnership ceremony.

Mohd Shazli confirmed Malaysia is the third country to have its domestic league integrated into the game, following Japan and Thailand.

The specific duration, financial value, and returns for participating clubs will be disclosed at a later date.

Konami Digital Entertainment general producer Junichi Taya highlighted Malaysia’s strong football culture as a key reason for the partnership.

“Malaysia has a very strong football culture and passionate fans, which makes it an important market for eFootball,” he said.

The collaboration will integrate M-League clubs, players, and local identity into the eFootball platform.

It also includes the implementation of a dedicated Malaysian server to enhance the online gaming experience.

The ceremony was attended by MFL president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan and Konami senior business marketing manager Hajime Matsumaru.
