M’sian Man Helps Stranded Aunty Who Cried After Entering Wrong Route & Had No Money For Toll | WeirdKaya
A Malaysian man has warmed hearts online after stopping to help an elderly woman who was left stranded by the roadside after accidentally entering the wrong highway route.

The story was shared by Threads user @vibewithharith, who said the incident happened while he was on the way to work near the Alam Damai highway area.

Saw elderly woman crying and waving for help

According to the man, he initially thought the woman’s car had broken down or suffered a tyre puncture after noticing her standing by the roadside while waving at passing vehicles.

However, when he approached her, he realised the situation was far more distressing.

The elderly woman was reportedly shaking and crying after accidentally entering the wrong route. She also did not bring along her phone or enough money, leaving her unable to pass through the toll.

“At first, I thought her car had broken down or that she had a flat tyre.

“But it turned out that the aunty had accidentally entered the wrong road and didn’t bring her phone or money, so she couldn’t get through the toll,” he shared.

“Maybe everyone was rushing to work”

Speaking to WeirdKaya, the man said he was unsure how long the elderly woman had been stranded there, but recalled that she told him she had already been waving for help for quite some time.

“The aunty told me she had been waving for a long time already. Maybe nobody stopped because it was during the morning rush and everyone was rushing to work,” he said.

He explained that he entered the toll together with the woman and paid for both her toll fare and his own.

The man also shared that after helping her get through the toll, he used Waze to guide her all the way home as she could not remember the route back.

Remembered how someone once helped him

The incident reminded the man of a past experience when he ran out of petrol while riding his motorcycle back to his hometown after Hari Raya.

Speaking to WeirdKaya, he said an Indian man had initially helped tow his motorcycle into a nearby village so he could look for a petrol station.

However, the petrol station was experiencing a blackout, forcing him to continue pushing his motorcycle until he eventually came across a Chinese car workshop.

“The Chinese mechanic offered me a bottle of petrol which was enough for me to reach the petrol station,” he recalled.

Because of the kindness shown to him back then, he decided to help the elderly woman instead of ignoring her situation.

Netizens praise his kindness

In a follow-up post, the man clarified that he did not share the story to seek attention or praise.

Instead, he hoped it would encourage more people to continue helping others whenever they can, even during difficult times.

“The moral of the story isn’t to show off, but that even when we are struggling ourselves, we should still try to make things easier for others.

Many netizens praised the man’s compassion, with some saying the story served as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
