The Jewellery That Stole the Show at Cannes Film Festival 2026

The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is in full swing. The finest filmmakers from around the world are gathering on the French Riviera in celebration of cinema. But before the lights dim and the projectors roll, tradition calls for the biggest names in culture to ascend the steps of the Palais des Festival. Stealing the spotlight are the myriad of captivating jewellery creations that adorn them. Each curated look is a narration of an age-old craftsmanship—an inimitable artistry that matches the level of excellence the festival stands for.

British actress Simone Ashley sets the tone for the season with a striking set. Bringing glamour back to the Côte d’Azur, the scene-stealer of The Devil Wears Prada 2 stuns with the diamond-encrusted Joséphine Soir de Fête high jewellery necklace and earrings by Chaumet. Red carpet royalty Bella Hadid also makes a head-turning appearance as she returns to the Croisette in Chopard’s earrings in ethical white gold set with pear-shaped and oval-cut diamonds.

Adding a touch of sultry elegance to the event, the president of the Caméra d’Or jury, Monia Chokri, dons the Ombre Féline high jewellery parure by Fred on the carpet. The Canadian filmmaker channels the femme fatale archetype with a necklace and earrings in yellow gold set with black spinels and diamonds. French-Italian model Gabrielle Caunesil, on the other hand, makes headlines with Piaget’s rose gold Swinging Sautoir watch that cascades down her back.

Virginie Efira, the star of this year’s heavy-hitter All of a Sudden, exudes originality as she gives a masterclass in styling with her Cartier ensemble. The Belgian-French actress layers the Clash de Cartier necklace with a double-looped Clash de Cartier long necklace. Rebecca Donaldson, too, receives the memo. The model shows up on opening night and shows off the bracelet and earrings from the Bvlgari High Jewellery Diamonds Haute Couture collection.

To those who are wondering, yes, the gentlemen hold their own effortlessly. The go-to lapel pins spotted at the ceremony have been reimagined through shades and scales. Thai actors Win Metawin and Gemini Norawit, in particular, stand tall among cinema’s best and brightest. While the former dazzles in the Bird on a Rock by Tiffany & Co. brooches, which juxtapose diamonds with aquamarine and pink sapphire, the latter opts for the voluminous Plume de Chanel piece.
