We have seen some retailers getting quite competitive on the upgraded and 15-inch M5 MacBook Air. But, after Apple upped the base storage tier to 512GB this generation, the most affordable 13-inch model is more compelling than ever and Amazon has the best price at $199 off the list right now on all four colors. 

Amazon is currently offering the most affordable M5 MacBook Air you can buy down at $899.99 shipped. 

Regularly $1,099, this is $199 off the list price and the best we have tracked to date at Amazon or otherwise. Some of the best authorized Apple dealers can get quite competitive with Amazon on new MacBook releases, much like B&H is right now on these 15-inch models at up to $270 off the list prices:

But when it comes to the most affordable models in the lineup, Amazon tends to deliver the lowest prices, much like it is right now:

B&H is charging $1,049 for this machine and Best Buy is charging $949. 

While in years past the base model MacBook Air models left something to be desired, first with the entirely underwhelming 8GB of RAM on the M3 model, and then with the thankfully defunct 256GB storage capacity on the M4. But with the 2026 M5 lineup, Apple has, in my opinion, hit the sweet spot when it comes to price and power on the entry model. Yes, the base model did go up in price this year, but you are landing a solid 16GB of RAM and the 512GB storage capacity that is just right for most users (and still for less than that config on previous models). Sure, everyone wants the 24GB+ RAM and 1TB+ in storage, but most folks probably don’t need it, nor the $1,499 price tag to get it either (this model is currently $1,299.99 at Amazon right now though).

Regularly $1,699, this is a straight up $200 off the list price and the best we can find. All things considered, and especially because Amazon and the big box retailers don’t carry this config, deals on this one will otherwise be hard to come by.

Apple’s current-gen base iPad is down at $299 shipped on Amazon today

Arguably the best iPad you can buy for young kids, if not just because it won’t cost a fortune, the iPad 11can also just be a great low-cost option for anyone when it comes to casual use, road trips, or just as a couch browser around the house. It is also one you can land down at $299 on Amazon right now in most colors. 

Amazon has Apple’s current-generation 11-inch iPad (A16) sitting down at $299 shipped right now in Blue, Pink, and Silver – the Yellow model is a touch higher at $319, but we recommend waiting until it is at most $299 before pulling the trigger. 

We have caught this deal a few times this year at least, but have yet to see it drop any lower than this since the holiday season last year when it feel an additional $25 or so on select colors. 

While the A16-powered machine might seem underwhelming for those with cash to spend on an iPad Air or better, and there is no Apple Intelligence action on this model, it can, again, make for a great low-cost option for casual users. The iPad mini might, perhaps, be better for young kids as it can be a little bit easier to get their hands around it, but at 11-inches, this thing isn’t huge and gives them a whole lot more screen real estate when it comes to educational content, games, and watching shows.
