iOS 27 will reportedly add two major new features to Apple Wallet

We’re just a few days away from Apple’s official iOS 27 announcement. The update is expected to introduce new features across many Apple apps and Siri. Apple Wallet is one of the most important apps for many iPhone users, and iOS 27 will reportedly add two key new features.
Apple Wallet to add “Create a Pass” feature and easier bill splittingFirst, iOS 27 will reportedly add a new feature to Apple Wallet that lets you convert physical passes to digital ones. This could have big implications for different passes you use on a regular basis, but that still aren’t natively available in Apple Wallet.
Here are some examples:
You’ll reportedly be able to create these passes using the “+” button in the Wallet app, just like how you currently add new credit cards to the app.
According to Bloomberg, the Apple Wallet app in iOS 27 will have three template options. “Standard” will be the default and create orange passes, “membership” will be blue and focused on things like gyms, and “events” will be green. You’ll be able to edit styles, images, names, and more to make sure each pass you create is easy to identify.
This feature sounds great to me. Even though many of my rewards cards now support Apple Wallet, there are still holdouts, like the rewards card for my local grocery store.
Apple Wallet in iOS 27 will also add a feature to help you split the bill with others at dinner. With iOS 27, you’ll reportedly be able to take a picture of a receipt and assign different items to different people. Then, you can generate payment requests so everyone can easily pay their portion of the bill. It will also factor in things like taxes and tips.
This feature will reportedly be tied to Apple Cash, which is basically Apple’s version of Venmo and Cash App.
This is a feature I’m particularly excited about. I just went on a trip with friends, and it was frustrating trying to reconcile what everyone owed for dinners and drinks at the end of the weekend. This iOS 27 feature sounds like it will make the process much easier.
What do you think of these rumored iOS 27 features for Apple Wallet? What else is on your wishlist? Let us know down in the comments.
