Malaysia's Longest-Running Amateur Golf Tournament Returns With RM2.7 Million Prize Pool

One of Malaysia’s longest-running amateur golf tournaments is back, and this year it is bringing its biggest prize pool yet.
The Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC), now in its 33rd edition, runs from July to October 2026 across 30 golf clubs nationwide.
The tournament kicked off on July 4 at Sungai Petani Golf Club in Kedah.
Qualifying rounds are spread across 16 clubs in the Central region, three in the Northern region, seven in the Southern region, and four in East Malaysia.
Winners in the Nett and Gross categories from each qualifying round will advance to the National Finals.
From BMWs to Golf GearThis year’s tournament features over RM2.7 million worth of prizes across the qualifying rounds and National Finals.
At the National Finals, two BMW 320i models — each valued at RM293,471 — are on offer as Hole-in-One prizes, sponsored by Auto Bavaria.
Vespa is also presenting Hole-in-One prizes across both the qualifying rounds and the National Finals.
Sports brands adidas, TaylorMade, and Garmin are contributing performance-related prizes throughout the season.
Beyond the ScorecardParticipants at each qualifying round can also access a selection of beverages at participating clubs, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, Carlsberg Smooth Draught, Connor’s, 1664 Blanc, and non-alcoholic option Somersby Apple 0.0.
Sun care brand Le Botanical is providing product offerings to participating golfers throughout the season.
Golfers can register through their respective golf clubs, though some qualifying rounds are already fully booked.
