PH promises high-tech future for Negeri Sembilan with new economic growth corridor plan

PAKATAN Harapan (PH) Negeri Sembilan has unveiled plans to transform the state into a strategic economic corridor linking technology, logistics, industry and human capital development under its "Kekal Harapan Negeri Sembilan" ("Retain Hope in Negeri Sembilan") election manifesto.

The coalition aims to establish Negeri Sembilan as the Centre of Malaysia's Hope Development Corridor, creating a new economic growth hub while moving away from the perception that the state serves only as a link between Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.

PH state leaders said the initiative was designed to attract greater investment, strengthen emerging industries and generate more high-skilled employment opportunities for residents.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Fuziah Salleh said the concept would redefine Negeri Sembilan's economic role by positioning it as a key growth centre supported by technology, logistics, industry and skilled talent.

"Ideally, this concept will build the understanding that Negeri Sembilan is no longer simply a state located between Kuala Lumpur and Melaka, but a new growth centre connecting technology, logistics, industry and human capital," she said in a statement.

Fuziah said the plan would be supported by several high-impact development projects, including Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) 2.0, NS Semiconductor Valley and Nilai Advanced Photonic AI Manufacturing City.

She said the initiative also supported the vision of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to create more high-paying jobs, reducing the need for young people to leave the state in search of better career opportunities.

PH said members of the public could access further details of the "Kekal Harapan Negeri Sembilan" manifesto, including the administration's achievements since 2018, through a dedicated QR code.

Meanwhile, Fuziah said PH's Main Operations Room continued to receive reports of vandalism involving campaign materials in several areas, including Labu, Sungai Lui and Palong.

She called on the Election Commission (EC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to enhance monitoring throughout the campaign period, adding that all complaints received would be submitted to the relevant authorities for investigation.

Fuziah also urged supporters and campaign machinery from all parties to avoid any form of provocation during the Negeri Sembilan state election campaign.

She expressed sympathy over a road accident that claimed the life of an election campaign worker and called on anyone with information about the incident to assist police investigations.

"Although the victim was not from the PH campaign machinery, we would still like to remind all campaign workers to take additional safety measures to prevent any accidents while carrying out their duties," she said. - July 22, 2026
