Netflix’s Elize: Shadows Of A Woman Cast And Character Guide 

In 2012, in a shocking turn of events, a woman murdered and dismembered her husband that shook the entire country. For years, we have seen many movies or documentaries and now, there’s a Netflix movie based on it. Directed by Felipe Vellasco, “Elize: Shadows Of A Woman” captures this gritty tale and shows us the perspective of the killer which led her to the rash decision. Lorena Comparato as Elize Araujo Matsunaga

Lorena Comparato’s filmography includes movies like “Kill Me Please,” “O Advogado de Deus,” “Trago Seu Amor,” “Rule 34,” and “Meu Album de Amores.” She has also acted in television series such as “Not My Fault: Brazil,” “Cine Holliudy,” “To de Graca,” “E! No Filter WKND,” “Forbidden City,” and “TOCs de Dalila.” Lorena plays Elize Araujo who has a very troublesome childhood – her father left her at a very young age and her stepfather sexually assaulted her. As she grew up away from her ancestral home, Elize started working as an exotic dancer and an adult entertainer who slept at night with men for money. On one of those nights, she met a repeating client and as weeks went by, Elize got married to him. Although he seemed loving, Elize soon understood that her husband was a cheater.

Henrique Kimura as Marcos Matsunaga

Henrique Kimura plays Marcos Matsunaga, who is one of the biggest businessmen of Brazil who becomes rich after inheriting his father’s billion-dollar-company. When he first booked a night with Elize, Marcos was already married and since then, he has managed to keep both of his relationships afloat. However, when Marcos realizes that he will not be able to live without Elize, he divorces his wife. Although everyone thinks that they are living a happy life, Marcos’ habit of hooking up starts destroying his relationship with Elize. “Elize: Shadows Of A Woman” marks Henrique’s official debut as an actor. 

Gustavo Falcao as Heitor  

Gustavo Falcao has acted in movies like “Fica Comigo Esta Noite,” “A Maquina,” “Executive Order,” “Liquid Truth,” and “As Maes de Chico Xavier.” In television, he was seen in “Sons Of Carnaval,” “The Rich And Lazarus,” “Jailers,” “O Negocio,” and “Dear Death.” Gustavo plays Heitor, Marcos’ best friend and a close aide of the Matsunaga family because of his business background. After he meets Elize, Heitor realizes that he has spent some nights with her before, especially when she was a highly paid exotic model. Although Heitor does not want to break Marcos’ heart at any cost, he cannot help but occasionally tease Elize about their history. He is really intrusive at times because Heitor wants to publicly embarrass Elize.

Julia Konrad as Larissa aka Bianca

Julia Konrad plays Larissa, who’s friends with Elize since both of them started working as exotic models for VIP clients in Brazil. Elize has often got Larissa beside her through thick and thin. When Larissa comes to the party dressed as Heitor’s partner, Bianca, she indirectly upsets Elize, who is afraid of her past getting exposed. Julia’s filmography includes movies like “Meu Sangue Ferve por Voce,” “Paradise Lost,” “Allure,” and “Kardec.” She gained recognition after showcasing her acting in television series like “One Against All,” “O Setimo Guardiao,” “Invisible City,” “Rio Connection,” and “Young Hearts.”

Denise Weinberg as Tia Marta

Denise Weinberg’s filmography has movies like “The Blue Trail,” “Salve Geral,” “Quase Nada,” “A Part Of Us,” and “Mercy.” She has also acted in several television series that include “The Negotiator,” “Once We Were Six,” “Harassment,” “Family Matters,” and “The Gold Hunt.” Denise Weinberg plays Elize’s aunt, Marta, who has brought her up like own daughter. Since Elize’s mother never paid heed to her claims about getting assaulted by her stepfather, Marta used to be there for the girl. When she learns that Elize is getting married to such a successful man like Marcos, she is literally the happiest one in the whole family. Marta always tries to help Elize and offers advice when the couple is having issues. 

Luciano Quirino as Delegate Aquino

Luciano Quirino plays Detective Aquino, who takes charge of investigating Marco’s unexpected disappearance from his own residence. Aquino is a hardworking police officer in the force and does everything he can think of to secure new leads about the case. Despite everyone suggesting that Elize has nothing to do with the incident, Aquino doesn’t give up easily and pressures her to reveal the truth. Luciano has acted in a number of films like “Simonal,” “The Traitor,” “Meu Preco,” “Odio,” and “Gonzaga: From Father To Son.” He has also been a part of numerous television series that include “Romance Polisial Espinosa,” “Contos do Edgar,” “9mm: Sao Paulo,” “Irrational Heart,” and “The Cleaning Lady.”

Julia Shimura plays Clarice, Marcos’ cousin while his brother, Lauro is played by Arthur Toyoshima. Edson Kameda and Miwa Yanagizawa play Marcos’ parents, Takashi and Masuyo. Ravi Dias and Manu Cardoso play the young versions of Marcos and Elize’s daughter. Erica Montanheiro plays Elize’s mother while Marat Descartes plays Elize’s stepfather.
