Here’s everything you need to know about NomNom East, the new contemporary food hall at The Five.
If you’ve ever spent more time deciding where to eat than actually eating, chances are you’re not alone. One friend is craving noodles, another wants rice, while dessert is already on someone else’s mind… Thankfully, Damansara Heights has a new answer to the age-old dining dilemma. Nestled within The Five, NomNom East is a contemporary food hall built around one simple idea: bringing people together through good food, regardless of what they’re in the mood for. Home to six distinct eateries, NomNom East makes settling on a dining spot a little easier, with plenty of options to suit every appetite around the table.
THE SIGHTS OF ASIAStep into NomNom East and you’ll quickly realise that the dining experience goes beyond just the food. Inspired by the hustle and bustle of Asian street markets, the space reflects this energy through colourful visuals, eye-catching typography, and playful design elements that create a lively backdrop for diners to explore. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout the space, including the green tiles surrounding the entrance signage—a nostalgic nod to the tiled exteriors commonly found in Asian homes and everyday streetscapes.
Adding another layer of character is a mural painted by local graffiti artist Kenji Chai, featuring familiar dishes and Asian-inspired elements cleverly woven into each artwork. Even its name hints at what the food hall is all about. “NomNom” captures the simple pleasure of enjoying delectable food, while “East” pays homage to the diverse flavours, culinary traditions, and cultures that come together across its eclectic mix of eateries.
A MELTING POT OF FLAVOURSBringing this idea to life are six distinct tenants, each offering its own take on flavours from across the region and beyond. Japanese fare takes centre stage at Tokyo Ramen, where Chef Masaki Arakawa combines traditional techniques with halal-friendly preparation to create hearty bowls of ramen. Alternatively, Uokatsu Express serves up Japanese rice bowls that are perfect for those looking for a nourishing meal on the go.
For a taste of home, Tiffin & Tang brings classic Malaysian dishes and drinks to the table, including Nasi Nusantara, curry laksa, fish head noodles, and traditional coffee. Meanwhile, Fierce Kitchen is a must-visit for lovers of Indian cuisine, with its banana leaf rice standing out as one of its signature offerings, alongside homemade lassi by the Lassi Company available in a variety of refreshing flavours.
Beyond Asian fare, NaRoa brings a Mediterranean-inspired café experience to NomNom East, serving fresh sandwiches, wraps, quality coffee, and healthy juices—making it an ideal spot for a casual catch-up or a well-deserved midday break. To end on a sweet note, Jogak Bingsu offers authentic Korean desserts and bingsu crafted with 100% premium soya milk. A standout is its matcha cup bingsu, but we also recommend the pan-fried hotteok as a warm treat.
The food hall’s line-up will soon expand with Wellcraft, bringing a curated selection of craft beers to NomNom East. Whether you’re unwinding after work or looking for a cold brew to complement your meal, this upcoming addition offers another reason to settle in and stay a little longer.
