Did Cole Die In 'My Life With The Walter Boys' Season 3?

[Spoiler Alert] My Life With The Walter Boys season 3’s ending sees Cole get into a massive accident after Danvers gets furious because Cole decides to drop out of the race 15 mins before it starts. While one can understand why Danvers got so mad, there is no reason for him to go and crash into Cole’s car without talking about it. The worst part is that Cole had no reason to really fight Danvers. His racing career hasn’t even started yet, so why would Danvers go so far and mess things up for him? For one, it’s because Danvers probably sees Cole as a threat to his career. It seems anything Cole gets good at, something or the other messes it up. The ending sees Cole’s precious yellow car topple over, making it seem like this is the ending. But let’s be real here: Cole is endgame for Jackie, and he’s probably going to be alright after a stay at the hospital, just like his dad.

I have a feeling this is why he’s been hit with the accident anyway. We’ve learned in season 3 that Jackie has a hard time thinking about hospitals. In fact, she can’t even visit George to see him even for a few minutes because the trauma of her family’s death weighs down on her so heavily. This is totally fair; it hasn’t even been that long, but if it’s Cole at the hospital, Jackie’s going to want to be way more tuned in because, despite everything, she’s still in love with him. However, with Eliot kissing her and Cole having told his parents that he’s going to Jackie before the crash, she’s going to know that this is partially her fault. We know there’s no one to blame here except Danvers, but you know how teenagers tend to make everything about themselves, and knowing that Cole left the race just to come see her will definitely have a huge impact on her.

Also, she’s already experienced enough trauma surrounding death in one life, in one teenhood, so there’s no way they’d kill Cole off to make her feel worse about herself. I mean, it would make her feel like she’s the Grim Reaper or something. So while I’m certain Cole isn’t dead, I can’t be entirely sure about what the result of this whole situation will be. Of course, the family will be very upset, and there’s a chance he won’t be allowed to be drag racing anymore. So this could lead to Cole going off to college, because we know he got in. But does this mean more distance from Jackie, or a sudden closeness? I really can’t be sure. On the other hand, Jackie will have the guilt of having kissed Eliot right when Cole was essentially being driven off the road because he was trying to come see her. There’s a big chance this will make her want to distance herself from everyone and go away somewhere. She won’t be able to look Katherine and George in the eye either, even if they tell her this isn’t her fault. Maybe the best thing for Jackie to do right now is keep her distance from the Walters after all this time. There is that trip to Greece that’s waiting for her, and after what’s just happened, I don’t think it would be a bad idea for Jackie to “run away” and get some peace of mind off the ranch for sometime.

As I said earlier, I believe Cole and Jackie are endgame, so whatever happens, something or the other will drag them back to each other. In the meantime, I do think there will be a whole revenge plot with Danvers possibly running away and Mac interfering, trying to get Cole his revenge. I do think Mac is a good person so far, because he’s always encouraged Cole to race because he sees potential in him. However, there’s a chance Cole leaving the race probably made him mad because he gets a 50% cut of his earnings too. We’ll have to wait and see if Danvers and Mac are working together against Cole, but that doesn’t really make any sense. So yeah, I think Mac will come back to encourage Cole to keep going. I think the racetrack is a good look for Cole for sure. He likes to live dangerously. But will Jackie be able to handle that?

So ultimately, the question we must ask is will Jackie end up with Eliot, or someone else altogether? Would this leave Cole completely devastated? I have a feeling it would. Cole was transformed by Jackie. He finally decided to forget about his knee injury and how it ruined his life, and decided to focus on something new – the cars. However, with the cars, now he’ll likely have second thoughts again and leave it behind entirely. Of course, one can get over trauma, but is it worth putting yourself in danger every time you’re doing your job? I’m not so sure. Especially because his parents were already against it, and he’s now gotten into college too. At the end of the day, Cole has to figure out what he wants to do after this whole Danvers situation. If the car accident has left him so injured that he can’t move, then the decision will have made itself. But I do expect there to be a lot of back and forth between him and his family about drag racing in the future. But what we can focus on right now is the fact that he will survive and that’s the most important thing.
