Saving a substantial amount of money takes a painstakingly long time and tons of patience. Thus, it’d be extremely frustrating to see it all being destroyed in the blink of an eye and unable to do anything about it.

A woman was left feeling understandably exasperated when she discovered that the savings she had taken so long to build were utterly devoured by termites.

RM2,000 savings gone

In a Threads post, the woman posted several photos of her hard-earned savings, which featured multiple RM20 notes being decimated by termites.

Some notes had the corners being “nibbled” off by the termites, while others had large holes all over.

In the caption, the woman wrote that she lost around RM2,000 in savings which she kept underneath the cupboard.

She also quipped that she doesn’t know whether she should be angry or laugh over the sight of the bank notes and asked netizens for help.

Suggestions

In the comment section, many told the woman to quickly take the affected bank notes to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and get a replacement.

However, they added that the notes’ serial number must be visible in order for the replacement to be made.

Another joked that the termites’ diet had become more “expensive” as they used to feast on rotten wood in the past.
