Sri Aman API at 223; Serian, Sarikei among 8 areas with unhealthy readings as of 10am (Aug 29)

KUCHING, Aug 29: Sri Aman continues to record ‘very unhealthy’ Air Pollution Index (API) levels, with a reading of 223 as of 10am today.
According to data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) under the Department of Environment, several other areas in Sarawak have recorded unhealthy API readings, with Serian and Sarikei among the highest at 195 and 191, respectively.
This is followed by Kuching with a reading of 171, Samarahan (169), Mukah (166), Sibu (162), Kapit (154), and Bintulu (151).
Meanwhile, three areas recorded moderate readings: Samalaju (92), ILP Miri (67), Miri (65), and Limbang (54).
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are hazardous. — DayakDaily
