Misha Omar returns with exclusive “Aku & Lelaki” showcase ahead of 25th anniversary concert

FOLLOWING the success of her Back to Basic and DiA showcase series, acclaimed Malaysian singer Misha Omar is set to reconnect with her fans through an exclusive showcase titled “Aku & Lelaki”, taking place on Oct 24 at 8.30pm at JioSpace, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

More significantly, the showcase marks another milestone in Misha Omar’s artistic journey towards a concert celebrating 25 years of her career, which is scheduled to take place next year.

Unlike her previous performances, “Aku & Lelaki” introduces a fresh concept that explores the balance between two complementary sides — masculinity and femininity, strength and tenderness, as well as loss and hope.

The performance will celebrate the beauty of the many emotions experienced throughout life's journey — from love, loss and longing to uncertainty, happiness and hope.

Each song has been carefully selected to create a narrative that reflects the balance between masculine and feminine elements, in keeping with the identity of the showcase.

In addition to performing popular songs from her own repertoire, Misha Omar will also offer her personal interpretations of iconic songs previously made famous by male singers from Malaysia, Indonesia and around the world.

With her powerful vocals, emotional depth and ability to breathe new life into every song, the showcase is expected to offer an intimate artistic experience combining nostalgia, appreciation for music and heartfelt performances.

“I don't want my fans to hear the same thing every time we meet. ‘Aku & Lelaki’ is a space and an opportunity for me to explore songs that I admire from male singers who have greatly inspired my musical journey.

“At the same time, I will continue to carry my identity as a female singer.

“I want my fans to experience something new, and I hope this showcase will allow the audience to return home with special memories,” said Misha Omar.

To ensure the performance achieves the desired production standards, “Aku & Lelaki” brings together an experienced creative team led by Music Director Ee Jeng, who is responsible for giving the overall musical arrangement and performance a fresh and exclusive treatment.

The show's direction will be helmed by Jennifer Thompson, while the technical aspects will be overseen by Simon Khoo, ensuring an engaging audio-visual experience for Misha Omar's fans.

The showcase is organised by Double M Productions, with concert management handled by Altus Prohouse, promising a high-quality production designed to meet the expectations of local music fans.

As the opening chapter leading towards Misha Omar's 25th anniversary concert, “Aku & Lelaki” is more than just a showcase. It is a night celebrating music, nostalgia and the emotions that have connected Misha Omar with the loyal fans who have accompanied her artistic journey for more than two decades.
