Ant International brings AI-powered payment protocol to eWallets including TNG eWallet

Ant International, a digital payment and financial technology provider affiliated with Ant Group, has officially launched its Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP) globally, a new open payment framework designed to allow AI agents to make automated purchases on your behalf.

The protocol is expanding across the Alipay+ network, partnering with global payment processors and 10 major digital eWallets including TNG eWallet in Malaysia.

Alongside the rollout, Ant International has initiated a cross-industry collaboration with Mastercard and Visa to establish a Know-Your-Agent (KYA) interoperability framework. This initiative aims to standardise how AI agents are identified, verified, and managed securely across global card networks and digital payment rails

Phase I rollout brings agentic commerce to 1.5 billion users

Launched earlier this year, AMP enables AI assistants such as chatbots or smart device agents to handle end-to-end tasks from product search and price comparison to final checkout, all without requiring you to switch between apps or re-enter payment details.

In Phase I of its global deployment, AMP is integrating with 10 digital eWallets including TNG eWallet (Malaysia), Alipay (China), AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR), DANA (Indonesia), GCash (Philippines), KakaoPay (South Korea), MPay (Macao SAR), TrueMoney (Thailand), Toss (South Korea), and Starryblu (Singapore). Combined, these wallet partners cover approximately 1.5 billion user accounts.

To ensure widespread merchant acceptance, Ant International is also partnering with seven global payment acquirers, including Adyen, Checkout.com, Fiserv, Global Payments, Nuvei, Worldline, and Allinpay. To encourage even broader industry adoption, the core protocol has been fully open-sourced on GitHub with developer SDKs and technical documentation.
